Care to elaborate?
Compared to various amps and dacs those sound sterile, distant, dull. Indoors I enjoyed the Hugo or the ifi. Been in HK for 12 years and one can demo every amp, dac, HP, IEM all day. I go once every two weeks and spend a day demoing stuff.

Nice, I only go to Toronto 3-4 times a year, traffic bothers me so demo maybe twice per year.

Shopping and demoing between 12PM to 6 PM is the easiest thing to do in HK. Getting a table at a restaurant is laboring.

I think Ember is another budget tube amp (been thinking of buying one myself). Also Feliks Audio tube amps.

Mojo might help too.

Feliks Audio tube amps have high output impedance ,,, not good for th900
not sure about others .

Ohhh. I guess that means I won't get one for sure.

What about the Ember? It has

"Three output resistance settings from 0.1, 35 and 120 Ohm"

Was interested in seeing how the TH-900 sounded through tubes rather than solid state (my Liquid Carbon).

First of all, the LC is as warm a solid state amp as you are likely to find. Maybe the Eddie Current Black Window might maybe be warmer, but I have not compared side by side. The LC is an excellent amp.

Listening through a tube amp per se may not do anything for you. The tubes matter. On my Mjolnir 2, the WE396a tubes make the sound more liquid than with the stock tubes. If you want speed and persuasion, and you simply want to reduce the treble a bit, use EQ or spend <$20 on MrSpeaker Doggie Treats. the Doggie Treats are instantly installed and removed. All you are doing is putting some felt like material into the cups. you don't even need to remove the cups. They will instantly reduce the upper mids and treble by 1-3 db.

If you really want to hear a tube amp, find one that had good, lush tubes.

I see, thanks. I was wondering how warm the LC was compared to tubes as well.

Where are the doggie treats? I don't see them at the MrSpeakers store.

Crud. Looks like they don't sell them anymore. Guess I'll stop recommending them.

You might be able to find some by posting a wanted classified.
