For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Listening to some Jimmy Cliff on the Denon AH-D5200’s. Great bass for some Raggae!

I have always liked this album. Tonight is the first time I’ve heard it on headphones (Denon AH-D5200’s). Wow what a great album, like I had never heard it before!

Grado GS3000x (XLR) << Violectric HPA V281:

[CTI (Creed Taylor, Inc.): August, 1974.] The GS3000x adroitly separates the instruments and nails the tonality of the vibraphone - a formidable achievement in itself !

Dose (1998) by Gov't Mule - I've barely given these any head time since I got the RS-1x and had forgotten just how good they are. Much, much bassier than the RS-1x with a lot more impact and by god do electric guitars sound fantastic. The RS-1x is something of a detail monster whereas the SR325x is a tone monster and I'm very happy to have them both in my collection, they complement each other very well. The SR325x together with the Schiit stack are a very nice way of listening to Gov't Mule, Warren Haynes' Gibsons sound huge with lots of low end grunt while his voice soars over the top - it's a treat for the ears.

AüR Audio Neon Pro with Cayin N7

Very unique jazz album, good look finding it if you want to stream. She has been a activist against data online, statement album of sorts.
Album art also show some of her thoughts, half being organic other more digital.

HiFiMan HE-X4<--Shanling M6 Pro 21<--Neutron Player/ 24bit/96kHz re-master download

Manfred Eicher recently released a bunch of older ECM titles that were re-mastered to 24/96 from the original analog tapes by Christoph Stickel. Their purpose was to present the original recording as true-to-original as possible with no further processing other than the digital re-master, and I think they've succeeded.

I couldn't resist purchasing the new re-master as a download and I've not been disappointed. That said, there's something about listening to my 43 year old cassette tape recorded from vinyl, pops and crackles and all, that nothing can match. HiFiMans capturing it all with a neutral sound signature.

Deep Purple (1969) by Deep Purple - This was the final album from the original lineup and features a cover that uses a black and white copy of part of one of the three panels of The Garden Of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch (not the detective). It must have taken a lot of guts to break up this lineup in order to go in a heavier direction because this is a very polished album, though it does have a distinctly 60's sound, still, it's hard to argue with the massive success of their subsequent albums with the new lineup including Ian Giullan and Roger Glover. I'm sure Ritchie Blackmore would thank me for sticking with the Grados for this because his Stratocaster sounds perfect, with a touch of twang and some smooth overdrive, far less than he used on their next album, In Rock, it just couldn't sound any better.

On Monday I am starting fresh. The next headphone up is the Audio Technica ATH-R70X's. The playlist is my "Best of 2000-2009 music". 274 songs in shuffle.
