For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

K702:

Pretty sure I've posted this one a good few times before but.. relistening to this with the EQ I setup yesterday (the one to the HD820's FR) and wow, shivers. Feels like the stage is filling the entire room, helped by the additional bass.

If anyone else has a K702 and wants to try the same EQ and tell me if I'm completely deaf or onto something here:

Note: This is mostly just for select tracks, especially EDM and stuff where the K702 feels quite bass shy like this. I also wear thick glasses so the bass is a few db quieter for me due to an improper seal.

Edit: Found another one that's stupidly good with the EQ:

IMR BC 2023 - Topping A90 Discrete

Ahab is brilliant on this release, no wonder I always come back.
The feel of dread is immense and drags me in every time.

Not sure if funky jazz, or jazzy funk, but loving it all the same.

I might need to set the grados/tubes onto this sometime tomorrow...

Still using the ERA-1's, but today I put on the hybrid pads. Different sound. Loved them with the Violectric today. Not as much with the iFi or Valhalla 2.

I was using my 2020+ playlist and even I was surprised at the variety:
Miles Davis, 50 years of Alligator Records, Seether, Foo Fighters, Makaya McCraven, Ayron Jones, Dave Matthews, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc. :L3000:
A great mix of Blues, Rock, Jazz, etc.

Since January of 2020, I have bought 29 hours of music! The collection is growing nicely:thumbsup:

And that doesn't even include the old jazz stuff that I can't stop buying.

Gov't Mule (1995) by Gov't Mule - Born in 1994 as a side project to the Allman Brothers Band by Warren Haynes and Allen Woody for when the Allmans were having down time. They've since become a force to be reckoned with in the blues-rock field and have released over twenty studio and live albums (I have 23) to date, with no sign of slowing down. Standouts for me are Rocking Horse, later recorded by the Allmans, Painted Silver Light and a fine coverof Free's classic Mr.Big. Thought I'd give the 325x a runout for a change and they play really well with the Mule, the electric guitar sounds pretty epic and that nice, punchy bass isn't far behind.

On the DT880 600 ohm.
Back on the Matsushita's in the buffer, guitars sound gnarly again at the cost of a little detail push.
I think I'll stick with warm tubes in the BA3, since anything else seems to sorta defeat the point of the unit. I mean tubes that are specifically noted for warmth. Maybe the Siemens I scored were just a less-than-ideal vintage. I read that some 70's Siemen's can be too bright. Still, even at their best they weren't modifying the signal that much. Whereas extra warmth in this chain is pronounced and pleasant. I mean, this isn't an amp, it's a buffer (even if it is a 'Class-A Buffer Amplifier' lol). I'm going to try some old British Tungsrams, but apart from that stick to Matsu/Mullard/Brimar. Maybe a Tesla
Then there's the headphones.
The DT880 and the k240 DF benefit from the extra weight and smoothness. Honestly, the DF's sound like hi-def butter, and the 880's get growlier.
All my set-ups need to fulfill one basic requirement: be good at playing Metal and/or Rock. If they can do that they'll do a fair job of anything else as well and I'll be satisfied. This meets that requirement.

Tanchjim Zero at the moment. I figured I'd do some more headphone -> headphone EQ experimentation, this time with IEMs since I imagine EQing one IEM to the FR of another probably produces a closer result than doing the same with over-ear headphones just due to the fact you don't have the additional chamber with all of those frequencies bouncing around in.

EQed to the FR of the Moondrop Blessing 3 this one sounded 👌

Then I tried EQing it to the 64 Audio Nio FR and fell in love with these:
