Greek music from a Chinese player, into Chinese headphones with a Greek name. Something happenin' here.
CULTURAL APPROPRIATION :open_mouth:

Anyway, quote meself:
The Athena is smooth, fairly open sounding. Good soundstage. Handles congestion well. Things will be crowded, but still separate; not all mashed into paste. Detail stops before it becomes super-revealing or analytical. The most striking thing is that it reminds me of the AKG k371, in that it feels like there's a deep well of bass, always lurking below everything else, behaving itself, until it is summoned.

Daniel Herskedal Call For Winter (2020)

Call For Winter

SIVGA SV021 rosewood w/Sendy Audio balanced OCC 4.4mm cable<--M6 Pro (21)/Tidal

The SIVGA's pick up the deep, clean sub-bass of this song quite dramatically and overall really excel with this album out of the Shanling's 4.4mm bal on Hi-Gain/Dual DAC. There's a euphonic quality to these headphones that is very compelling, especially when fed a decent amount of current.

I have been spending the last couple days listening to some of my lesser used transducers in preparation for a possible purge from my collection. This afternoon, I went with a pair of Fearless Audio Provence that I bought off a friend. I didn't immediately click with this pair, but they've definitely grown on me, and they're nailin' this album.

At the top of the queue is 2002' self-titled debut albumt from Transplants. This is a kinda hip-hop, meets punk, meets rockabilly, meeds dub, etc band. Travis Barker drums, Tim Armstrong plays guitar and adds vocals, Rob Aston does vocals and rappings, and a revolving door of bassists including guys like Matt Freeman (Op Ivy, Rancid, etc), Jay Bently (Bad Religion) , etc fill in on bass as needed. Their music isn't for everyone, but I find it refreshing and catchy, played in a style that no one else was touching at the time and that I still think Transplants will are kings of. Highly rec'd! 👍😎

To those about to rock, I salute you! 🤘😎

Apocalypse (1974) by Mahavishnu Orchestra - The DT1990's did such a good job last night they retained their place on my head for tonight's session. And tonight's session has seen me going through my Mahavishnu Orchestra collection, this being number four - there's even a real orchestra for extra brownie points

Some nut recommended this album to be long ago. I think they beefed with RHCP. But this ended up being an album I test with b/c of the chaos of noise. Its as if you're in an insane asylum. But, I guess it grew on me over time from familiarity. I think vocalist was in Faith No More.

Excuse the side trip. The artwork hit me. I'm trying to learn how to paint icons - using my minimal skills. My father had two 19th Century icons, and I was always struck as a child by the quiet stillness exuded by them. Here is another one I've been looking at. I'm going for an antique/aged look...

Quite nice! As for me, I will eschew painting an icon:

Vigil In A Wilderness Of Mirrors (1990) by Fish - Derek Dick's first solo album after leaving Marillion and a good place to start a new playthrough.
There's some good bass on this album from John Giblin, which sounds godly through the D7200's
