[Reprise: June, 2000.] It’s always a treat / treasure to return to this album…two masters…via tubes & LCD-X…🥲.

JRiver Media Center (PC) SMSL SU9 > SMSL SH9 > Denon AH-D7200

Hold Your Fire by Rush - Continuing my play through of more recent Rush releases, well more recent than Moving Pictures anyway. Very much enjoying this one, starting off with Force Ten which is an absolute monster, amazing bass. I like the second track too, Time Stand Still, a very radio friendly track for the AOR stations.
Went with the Denons for this, I want to hear Geddy Lee's bass in all it's amazingness (is that even a word?)

That Gold Note DS-10...that brings tears to my eyes when paired with the Hifiman HE1000se or HE1000se and HeadAmp GS-X Mini. Glorious radiant warmth and velvety smooth sound that was built for sheer musical enjoyment.

Kneebody
Live at le Crescent (2022)
"Spectra (Live)"

HE-X4<--Topping NX7/Shanling M6 Pro 21<--Tidal streaming

This band is so...out there, like I can't even put their music into a genre other than maximum-intensity super-musical jazz fusion from another planet. I sometimes wonder that a group of humans can actually play this stuff so tightly in those insane time signatures. Anyway, the NX7 on hi-gain was giving the HiFiMans great current and they were lapping it up, dolling out clarity with heavy low end, and sounding way above their pay grade. I was doing the listening in the dark thing and it's true, when the only thing you're experiencing is the music, well that's what this whole thing is about.
