Brought to you tonight on Madame Psychosis*: Dave Holland, Pepe Habichuela - Hands. 2 percussionists, 3 Spanish guitars and bassist Dave Holland. Works well at 1:30am, or any time for that matter. I find the sounds of the percussion particularly compelling.

Southern Comfort by The Crusaders - The first time I heard The Crusaders was their 1979 hit, Street Life and I loved it but then they just fizzled out on this side of the pond. I've renewed my interest over the last few years and find them intriguing. Loving this album, Larry Carlton's guitar work makes it all the more accessible to a Steely Dan fan like me. Wilton Felder's bass sounds pretty sweet too on the D7200's - I was too lazy to switch to another pair

Street Life was kind of a pop crossover. Go back in time and listen to their earlier stuff, Free as the Wind is a good start. Images is a recent favorite of mine, the recording is superb and most of the tracks will slam hard on your Denons!Amazon Music Unlimited > JRiver Media Center 30 (PC) > SMSL SU9 > SMSL SH9 > Denon AH-D7200

Going to the back wall for the late night/early morning portion of Madam Psychosis*, instead of sleeping tonight I’ve been doing my year end billing since 1:15 am. Just pulled these two classics from 1993 and 1994, respectively. Ry Cooder/V.M. Bhatt- A Meeting by the River (Water Lily Acoustics) and Ry Cooder/Ali Farka Toure - Talking Timbuktu (Rykodisc). I suppose this was the ever interesting Mr. Cooder’s experimental world music period. Combining elements of folk and Indian/African and blues, in various proportions, the results are musically inventive and sonically pure, both delights for the ears. Enjoy!
May as well throw in this 2002 collaboration (Ry Cooder/Manuel Galbán - Mambo Sinuendo, on the Nonesuch label) before time runs out. Consider it in the same vein, but with a more South Beach flavor.

What is your favourite amp for driving GS3000x ?
Well, I don't seem to have the large selection of amps that some of us on Head-fi have, so my options are somewhat limited. I use the BF2/64 for all my DAC needs. I have the option of listening via Valhalla 2, Vali 2 ++, Little Dot III, Jot 2, and Feliks Audio Espressivio. All can drive the 3000x very well. However, my preference is for the slightly warmer sound from the tube amps. Of those, the Espressivio seems to have an overall advantage when it comes to Timbre, tight bass, and a slightly more cohesive sound stage.. I like the Valhalla 2 as well, but every now and then the 3000x seem to get "wonky" when listening to a small part of a recording. Not sure what type of recordings cause this, but it happens often enough that I shy away from using them with the Valhalla 2...What is your favourite amp for driving GS3000x ?

jonathan c--I was about to hit the general reply/post button on another another Allman album and you beat me to it. Well, it wasn't the same one!

I was comparing Gregg's and Jackson Browne's (original writer) version of These Days and I find I like them equally. They just hit from a bit of a different angle.
