Live Dates by Wishbone Ash - I saw them around this time (1973) and they were very impressive, the twin guitars of Andy Powell (Flying V) and Ted Turner (Stratocaster) were something special :L3000:.

There's The Rub by Wishbone Ash - First album after Laurie Wisefield replaced Ted Turner on guitar - a replacement that worked for me because I much prefer this album to Wishbone 4

Seems to be doing fine to my old ears, TA-30 is a beast though, I sooo wish it had a couple of gain settings...lower lol. It'd drive pretty much anything I'd guess, not sure on this amps rated impedance range but it's a hybrid. Are you just after the amp side, if so TA-20 is good also with low impedance cans (8-600ohm rated I think) and is cheaper (2w of power) if no need for a dac etc, I've not tried the smaller budget MT range from xDuoo but they might also be of interest if after a more budget option. Would have to ask other owners with them in the xDuoo thread if interested in those.

Now listening to the DCA/Drop Aeon Flow X (closed)

SMSL M400 -> RCA -> Little Dot MK3 SE (High Gain) -> Beyerdynamic DT 880 600 Ohm with Audioquest big jack
Dave Meniketti - Loan Me A Dime
https://tidal.com/browse/track/11352171

For me its a midrange massacre in a very good sense, no other headphones I have can play it like that.

Do not listen directly to below YT vid, I post it just because for others. Better use Spotify or Tidal, it makes a difference on a chain like above.

I find the music good via youtube (with the Denon AH-D9200s), so I will look for another better version later. Thanks for sharing. I like that kind of music, the electric guitar and drums sum up a lot to the vocals :L3000:

How do you find your SMSL M400? I'm interested in the new SMSL M500 MKII to use as a DAC and also as a preamp for my active monitors. But, when I used my current AIO through RCA output to my active monitors I got a background hum noise, solved by using XLR. I plan to use the SMSL via XLR, but also via RCA to another amp and wonder if I will suffer the same issues.

Thanks.

@Terriero Im not saying music from YT is always bad, its not, but in most cases versions on Spotify/Tidal/Deezer are just better, less compresed etc. Only sometimes it happens that some song sounds better than from streaming services, most cases such songs are records from vinyl by some audiophile guys. I like SMSL M400 a lot, previously I had Aune S6, imho M400 beats it hardly in every aspect. Good you mentioned XLR, I love that kind of connection, it almost always sound better than through RCA.
