For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

.... well? did the lab explode .... 🤔🫣?
@jonathan c fortunately not  while I must say that I expected a better synergy between Focals and MHA200 based on previous listening to McInthos amp with Focal Stellias. The results of experiments are:

  1. Focal Stellias sound great on MHA200, to tell you the truth I haven't found an amp those cans would not sound great, they are one of my favourite HPs.
  2. Focal Clear MGs have a lot better synergy with: TT2, Envy, ifi Pro iCan, Mytek Brooklyn Bridge, ifi micro Signature and AuroraSound HEADA than MHA200. Can't say anything about Burson since I haven't listen to it with Clears for quite some time. Usually I listen to Clear MGs out of either HEADA or Envy.

Hope my notes will be useful for someone.

Another brilliant album for calm, late evening/night listening:

This is one hell of amazing, brilliant (add what you like here) album

I don't recall many albums of that caliber with such integrity of music... maybe a few grunge albums like Nevermind, Superunknown and Facelift or Dirt. Cool Struttin by Sony Clark, Autumn in Seattle by Tsuyoshi Yamamoto... Dreaming wide awake while brilliant one isn't as much integral as Love & Hate.

T+A Solitaire P-SE resolution and clarity provides amazing treat with TT2 musicality and speed and micro detail control of Envy.

What DAC chip are you going to be using?
Something modern or old school?

I'm using TI DAC8812s. The same chips Schiit uses in their Bifrost 2/64. If this one turns out nicely. I've got some higher end Analog Devices chips and some vintage Phillips chips I would like to try in the future. The TI chips were cheap, easy to acquire, and easy to design around so I figured they would be a good choice for my first go-round.

Topical Content:

Still on the Audeze MM-500s and still using the modded Schiit Lyr (w/ Siemens Gold Pin ECC88s) and the MMB2 fed by a Wiim Mini. I'm just really enjoying the sound of this chain today and I'm busy working so I figure why bother changing?

Currently gracing my MM-500s is Lite's 2013 release, Installations. Despite having known about and listened to these guys for a while, I haven't made it through their entire discography and I figured today was as good a day as any to work towards remedying that situation. This was the first album I came to in my library that I hadn't listened to yet, aside from the first two tracks, so it got the nod. These guys put out some killer math rock so I'm looking forward to hearing what this album is all about. 👍👍😎

Cold evening here in the northern part of Jutland - needed some warm jazz to reminisce summer days gone by. Opted for Bill Evans’ Explorations.
There is a joyous aura to this album - like butterflys and bumblebees zooming about in the garden. Love the instrumentation and Bill is a breeze to listen to. Together with an absolute blaze of a rhythm section in Scott Lafaro and Paul Motian they cook up a jam like nobody’s business. Motian is one helluva drummer!
Grabbed the AR5000 as it has become my fave jazz purveyor of late.

Well as I sit on the patio awaiting the start of the Sunday Night game and sipping on some Single Malt Scotch. .

I’m listening to The Yellowjackets Country Living on the Chord Hugo 2, DHC Mini Chimera and Focal Utopia 22.

Sorry followed it up with a true classic, Herbie Hancock’s Watermelon Man the Head Hunters albums remixed version. If you haven’t had the pleasure to hear this take a listen.

Out Of Myself (2003) by Riverside - Their debut album and it's a good 'un. I've been a fan of this band ever since first hearing this album at a friend's house, heavily influenced by Fish era Marillion but Mariusz Duda's vocals gave it it's own unique sound. Another night with the HD800S, I love the way they project the music with very little coloration and the soundscape they create is "out of your head" without sounding artificial. I really don't think I could choose between these and my Aryas, they both sound great and different enough to warrant having both.

Up in the wee hours running the DCA Corinas driven by the HeadAmp Aristaeus (w/ Amperex Bugle Boy ECC83s) and Gustard R26 pulling DAC and streamer duties. After a couples days break from the Corinas, they sound absolutely fantastic tonight/this morning. 🔥

Atop my insomniac's queue is Eastern Blok with their 2011 effort, Underwater. This is the second night in a row where I've just been feelin' the jazzy vibes and this album scratches that itch. Nothing outrageous or genre bending here, just solid jazz with some mild world percussion influences. Totally approachable and infinitely listenable, Doug Rosenberg's saxophone work and Goran Ivanovic's understated classical guitar parts are the stars of the album for me. Highly rec'd! 🔥👍😎

Starting the day off rather late with some Rock Progressivo Italiano. Delirium’s sophomore record. Masculine earthy Italian vocals with a backdraft of the occasional falsetto backing singers, old school keys, flute, reeds and a wonderful early 70s sounding rhythm section with lots of uumph. This takes me flying straight through the mustard yellow countryside of the bootshaped country.
