Rockin' the ZMF VCs because I needed something funky for the music I've got coming up. I'm running them off the Burson Soloist 3XGT and Schiit Yggdrasil MIB being fed by a Wiim Pro. The VCs and the Burson really sound incredible together. The Burson actually seems to pair particularly well with dynamic driver based headphones with good dynamic properties (eg all my ZMFs, my Elex, the Utopias my buddy brought over, etc).

Up next in my late night queue is Superfluous Motor's 2021 album, Highs & Lows. This is a funky little fusion number. Low-key with a very cool and laid back vibe. The playing is tight and the rhythm section really knows how to groove from the pocket. The bassist is definitely the unsung hero of this group, IMO. His understated, but funky fresh lines are the backbone of everything they've got going on in a major way. Two thumbs up from your's truly!

If only hi-res could fix terrible production, but alas...

It's really quite a tragedy given the truly classic nature of the songs and Ms. Winehouse's epic level of talent. I shake my head every time I hear that album and think of how crazy good it could've been.

Yeah Googled it myself and there’s also an old Head-Fi thread. Shame, I was never into Amy so never listened to her albums but recently thought I’d give it a go as she was definitely a huge talent. Will try Frank later on. Yeah, never really liked Ronson either glad I never wasted my time all those years ago

Hero (2021) by Amarok - Currently listening to Polish band, Amarok as I haven't heard them in quite a while. They are a crossover prog band centred around Michal and Marta Wojtas, with Michal writing the music and Marta providing the lyrics. They are backed up by a drummer and bassist but Michal plays most of the instruments, plus between the two of them they cover the vocals. There's an electronic element to the music too, which along with some virtuoso guitar work from Michal (sounds like Mark Knopfler) makes them really stand out from the crowd. The HD800S found their way to my head for tonight's listening session and they have been great with anything thrown at them, especially with a binaural album from Italian band Nosound.

There’s been some great music posted in this thread since I last was in here
I caught @Hypops spinning Stereolab not that long ago and thought I’d spring for Tim Gane’s recent prog electronic/Krautrock venture in Cavern Of Anti-Matter. It’s late here and I need some of that dreamy otherworldly analogue synth based music to compliment a wonderfully black starry night.
The music is larvaling, oceanic and chuffs along to those old twostroke engine drum machines. Looking out my window and it feels like taking a train to the stars.
