Tales From Outer Space (2019) by RPWL - They started out in Freising, Germany back in 1997 as a Pink Floyd cover band and started writing their own material three years later. They have developed a very distinctive sound all of their own over the last couple of decades, led by Yogi Lang on keyboards and vocals and Kalle Wallner on guitar. The whole album is great but my out and out favourite is the exquisite Light Of The World, a ten minute epic that I never fail to get lost in. I went with the Schiits and the Denons as there is some very powerful bass involved and it was all a bit much for the RS-1x.

Testing my hearing today, switching between DACs to hear if I can actually hear a difference. My newly added RCA switch can switch between inputs without interrupting the music, so any difference should show up very easily. Testing the internal DAC of the R7 against the SMSL DO100, and so far I'm struggling to hear any kind of change when switching
DO100/R7 to Roger ro HEKS.

Are the output voltages of the different DACs identical? If not, perceived differences in sound may be due to differences in output voltage. Also, are the different DACs connected to h/p/a by the same brand/model of digital cable?

Also the dac itself, I have the aresII R2R dac, and it has its own sound over a chip based dac either AKM or ESS

Voltage differences can matter, both in terms of output volume and in terms of the Roger’s input sensitivity (which affects distortion). But just glancing at the SMSL and R7 specs, I wouldn’t expect to hear much difference between them since you’re running both into a tube amp whose audible distortion profile is going to override any of the subtle differences that might exist between the two squeaky-clean delta-sigma DACs. In other words, differences might exist in how those two DACs sound, but you are very unlikely to hear the differences using that tube amp. You need a much greater delta (in price and/or architecture) between the DACs you’re comparing if you want to use that amp to A/B them.
