JRiver MC > Schiit Modi Multibit > Schiit Vali 2 (mullard 6DJ8) > Grado RS-1x
Deja Voodoo (2004) by Gov't Mule - Judging by the number of stars I've awarded the different tracks, this is one of my favourite Mule albums, no less than six 5* awards out of 12 tracks and the other six are all 4* - that's pretty impressive. According to Wikipedia "The title is a reference to the band's belief that it rocks just like it used to before the death of former bassist Allen Woody.". Switched to the Schiit stack for a little R2R goodness and a touch of valve warmth and the Grado RS-1x, while approaching their limit for guitar heaviness, really bring it all to life, specially Warren Haynes guitar work
[Creed Taylor, Inc.: released October, 1971.] A bit on the commercialised side, occasionally saccharine (strings arranged by Don Sebesky), still a decent outing. Great sound!
Louis Armstrong is seen as a novelty act by some, but he was the real deal. I hope that AI is possible to clean up some of his earlier recordings. The sound quality of too many pre 1955s jazz recordings is unlistenable (imho).
[Evolution Media Ltd. 2022. Currently queued: "Maputo".]

Replaced the Hagerman Tuba [w/2x Russian 6N14N] with the LYR+ [w/1x CBS-JAN-CHY 5692].
This time around I prefer the MM-500 paired with the Schiit. Not as exacting [or sharp-leaning] as when heard through the Tuba, but presented with a fuller, rounder tonality and really firm and nicely warm/natural bass support from the LYR+. A better complement for the Audeze, IMHO.
Could be the double triode, too, for which I have had a longstanding affinity [and from which I had had an extended absence].
