Sennheiser HD660-S2 << Norne Audio Vygarde HPC << Beyerdynamic A20 (output impedance: 100 ohms):

[Atco: January, 1974.] Debut album of one of the best vocal R&B / soul groups, period. Hearing the shift from tenor to falsetto - with guitars, strings, keyboards, drums at full tilt - is a thrill. Ballads are damned good, too! HD660-S2 & Beyer A20 do this album justice!

Drama (1980) by Yes - This is the album where Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes from Buggles replaced Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman and the result is one of the best Yes albums they ever made. Trevor Horn doesn't sound too dissimilar to Jon Anderson and Geoff Downes is a very capable keyboard player and the three existing members of the band were really fired up by the input from the new members and it really shows in the music. Steve Howe's guitar work is a bit heavier than on previous records and the rhythm section of Chris Squire and Allan White have never sounded better. Returned to the SMSL stack for the detail and stuck with the D-7200's because Chris Squire's bass and Allan White's drums sound stupendous, you can really feel that kick drum. :darthsmile:

Comparison between the DT770 and the DT990, and the DT990 is far ahead at this point. Can't believe that I've listened to the 770's for so many years, and not realized har far away they are from my preference...
Tidal -> Wiim Mini-> SMSL DO100-> V200-> DT770 Pro/DT990 Premium

I have a pair of DT 1770s and they're quite a nice and balanced set for a closed pair.
