Xanadu will never look as good as Darkvoice. :relaxed: DV is just so photogenic especially after I gave it Nike shoes and that is dimpled face with mouse ears. :relaxed:

Over the years, I've my fair share of OTL amps that use 6as7. Maybe I will go back to one again. I was in talks with La Figaro 339i creator yesterday for a customised version. This was my GOTL and 6336b plus a 25.2v driver on it.

Guess I can share Cetron 6336b here. :)

I received a pair of SFR branded E. 6080 H from France today. They are playing some solo cello and piano right now, with NOS input tubes, so it's too early to say something about them other than that they are promising. I even have a photo. Look at what is written inside the glass.

These are Thomson tubes:

Yes, they certainly are. Mine probably not or possibly not. They might be

Société française radio-électrique

before they, SFR, merged with Compagnie Générale de Télégraphie Sans Fil, later merged with CSF-Thomson. 'Your' tubes have a different construction. The numbers on my tubes are written on that metal shield that your 6080WA don't have. They might come from the same factory at different time for what I know, or don't know. Or from a completely different factory.

Several tubes cooperate fine with SFR. The one doing service now is the most promising so far with the tone from piano and solo cello. It's a tall bottle 7N7 with race track bottom mica (that some say is the sign of the real 'Frankentube') that is branded K-R which isn't Ken-Rad but a valve reseller from New York back in the days, or so I've been told. What is interesting with this tube is its EIA code; 280 117 which is Raytheon. Most 7N7 is said to have been produced by Sylvania with some by NU. I haven't heard of fake use of EIA code. But anything could be fake nowadays. Even this post.
