All cables are good unless they're broken. At worst you'll shift the frequency response almost imperceptibly in a direction you don't prefer.

That's why I'm reluctant to invest too much on the cables. If the stock cable was shorter and had 4.4mm termination, I wouldn't even think about aftermarket cables.

The easiest/cheapest way would probably to get a cheap Pentaconn cable ~$15-25, cut off the headphone connectors, then solder on some cheap LEMO connectors ~$15 for a total of around $30-40.

Admittedly I haven't tried a tonne of cables with my Utopia, but I have experienced the Cardas Clear, Black Dragon, Hart Audio and the stock cables.

To me the stand out was the Black Dragon from Moon Audio. The Cardas seemed to be on par with the stock cable and Hart the least impressive (though still perfectly fine).

I reterminated xrl and as an adapter 10cm jack to xrl female
It sounds good. A bit on a warm side.
I mostly used toxic silver widow a little more detailed and tighter bass

I've got a toxic silver widow for my hd800,I find it really changes the sound alot,some people would love it,and some people would hate it.

It changed a lot for audeze. Perfect with the lcd2. A bit too much for the lcd3
With the utopia i heard a bit of change on the better but not day and night. I m becoming older!

I've gone through alot of different cables with the utopia,using a chord dave,the Nordost was one of the worst cables I tried,it had no body to sound(sounds thin)The best cable I've heard,is the cable that came with the utopia,the big thick python lol,that some people moan about,and yes it sounds better then the Lazuli Reference as well.

To my ears, this (Heimdall 2) is the best cable I've heard with the Utopia. Most balanced, transparent and nuanced. I've owned many and heard many more, but this one is just aces for me. The newer stock cable sound a bit better than the older thicker one. But I prefer the ergonomics of the older cable due to the microphonic nature of the newer cables.

I'm not much of a cable believer, but that Heimdall 2 looks pretty good. Might be worth it for the looks alone

If the utopia stock cable was the Heimdall 2,I would never have brought them.Theirs no body to the sound,what soever,one of the most disappointing aftermarket cables I've ever purchased.but I'm glad you like it.

I think you need to revisit it...it there with the very best out there...and bests them to my ears.
