I'm curious, I hear mention of "Dekoni Stellia Pads" - what

Keen to hear your thoughts when you get them! I haven't seen anyone have both Elite and ltd Stellia to make the comparison.

I am also interested in if there is much difference between the Dekoni Focal Elite and the Stellia Limited versions of the earpads - they do look very similar to me...

I think the main difference is the "acoustic" cloth used in the inner lining vs. full leather inner lining. Also a softer leather as shown in the picture below.

I actually just sent Dekoni a msg via socials to ask the difference and the response was:

"The LTD Stella are better with high frequencies, and the Stella also have a dense foam then the Sheepskin".

Wouldn't denser foam mean imply firmer? I already find the Elite Sheepskin quite firm so not sure I'd want to go firmer. Unless it covers the ear more and is less felt on the ear perhaps.

Dekoni has a 30-day return policy. You could always get the LTD Stellia pads to compare and return it if it's not the preferred choice. Offload the Elite Sheepskin or keep it as a spare if it is.

Would love to be able to do that but I am in Australia so would ideally pick up from the local distributor A2A due to postage etc

My EQ settings are optimized

Band #2 is low shelf
Band #5 and #10 high shelf

Adjust Band 2 for Bass,
Band 5 for treble presence,
Band 10 for airiness.

Monday I will do a direct comparison with the Stellia.
Both with Dekoni pads and Harman curve.
(I gave the Stellia back after a short time last year. With original pads, without EQ, not convincing)

Hm interesting. But makes me wonder where to look for a (considerable) improvement over the Elegia.

I considered other Focal Headphones but I kinda can't imagine that the celestee or clear will sound that much better.

My Dekoni Stellia pads are supposed to arrive on Wednesday. I will let you know how they sound compared to the Elite Sheepskin pads.

My pads will still be a week or more away sadly, but I'm using the Elegia's today anyway...Love em oh and I like the cable I'm currently using them with. Not bad for a balanced cable and less than $20!

Going to test these out shortly on Equalizer APO. What are the freq's that aren't a 'peaking' filter - am I still using that to set them?

Well I've just ran with your settings and this does sound VERY good. I like that these don't change the tonality of the Elegia too much, it just makes them better at everything. I tried one of Oratory's earlier ones and they sounded like different headphones. Wasn't impressed. Will keep these for a while and try some different genres etc!
