I think that really comes down to personal preference. I like them better but I know others might go prefer the senns.

The Focal Elear is better than the HD650 ?
I like my Elear with the Utopia pads more than the HD650. Elear with Utopia pads is very close in frequency response to the Elex.
One thing I would add is that the elear seems less amp dependent to my ears.

Yea. The Elear sounds fine on pretty much anything, but the last extra few % is worth it with a "better" amp. Even though the Elear is pretty easy to drive, it definitely sounds a few percent better on my Magni Heresy than with a phone and a dongle or a Topping NX4DSD.

I think it's less about how much power and more about the quality of the power.

Definitely. The Elear doesn't need much power at all. The HD650 really doesn't either..... 1mW will get either one plenty loud, at least on paper.

elear is better then the 600, i havnt heard a 650. i like the 600 alot
Definitely. I just felt in my testing that the elear changed less when changing source than the hd650s did. Almost as if the elear personality is perhaps a bit stronger and less mutable.

Anyone know the length, width and height of the headband? Excluding the focal logo part. I don't even have a bendable ruler at my house lol. Just looking for a protection for it, as it will wear out long term.

I'm still using the box to store it, might get those as well for on the go purpose. Or get a Hippocase I guess.

Just not sure about the size of the headband, wanted to buy some to not wear those out when using

The length spanning the top of the head band from logo to logo is 213mm. The length span of the inner cloth pad - the part that rests on your head is 175mm. That pad is essential rectangular with a width of 35mm. The leather top piece, measuring from the sewn seam on one side to the opposite sewn seam measures 80mm at the widest and 70mm at the narrowest (by the Focal logo). These are all fairly tight measurements.

Can't say thank you enough. This will help me find which headband cover/protection is the right size for the Elear. Here's what I get:

The Focal Elear is better than the HD650 ?
There are HD650 fans that swear they are the penultimate, "best ever" headphone, so it depends on who you ask .
I own both. I find the Elears to have better quality bass and deeper bass extension, better soundstage, better overall resolution, and better treble emphasis (no Sennheiser "veil"). I think the HD650 have a slight edge on the mids quality, but overall I much prefer the Elear.
