Focal Elear - Impressions Thread

The Utopia pads are $300.00, not worth it. If you really want to swap pads I'd look at the Dekoni's. You can achieve what either pad does with EQ though.

I haven't heard the RME ADI-2 DAC but it does seem to get universal praise.

Alright. I also have creaking sound from the headband and my Elear isn't under warranty anymore (more than 2 year old). How can I fix that ?

Thanks a lot. Any alternatives for euro people ? Can't seem to find this particular one :frowning2:

I would just search for "dry teflon spray". I've used it in the past with good results. It sprays on wet and dries very quickly, usually leaving a white film, so if it gets on any parts you don't want you should be able to just wipe it off.

Your headphone has a 5 year warranty from original date of purchase by the original purchaser.

I found this one that should do the job : https://www.probikeshop.fr/finish-line-entretien-lubrifiant-teflon-sec-240ml/61735.html

Thanks, I totally forgot about the manufacturer warranty. I'll call them tomorrow before buying the spray.

I think a bit of creaking with movement of the headphones is normal with the Focals. I tested two different Elears and also a Clear and Utopia. All of the headphones had a minor kind of "creak" when giving them a slight twist and movement. Not something you notice while wearing the headphones, just when moving and twisting them a bit.

Hi all,

Does anyone know why Focal USA won’t honor a warranty on Elears purchased at an authorized dealer in Dubai U.A.E.?

I was in the Dubai area doing humanitarian work and purchased the cans there.

My Elears left driver doesn’t output anymore. I am getting pushback from Focal USA and they do not want to repair the cans under warranty.

Thanks all.

I think this would be a question that Focal would need to answer for you.

Their answer was no. They won’t repair under warranty. I was wondering if anyone could help me understand their position more.

Thanks

Yes, it’s because your warranty is with your original territory of purchase. You’ll need to contact your dealer in Dubai.

I’ll try to bring a little more clarity by saying that territory distributor for Dubai has been allocated warranty funds for his sales. Your repair cost is in that distributors responsibility. Not all territories are serviced by Focal itself. More often it is a distributors responsibility to take care of those sales generated from that distributors inventory. Focal supports the distributor but the distributor and your dealer have the responsibility of service to your purchase.

You could contact the dealer and request their assistance with getting the repair done here in the US.

Thanks. I was hoping that you would chime in here. I’ve made several attempts to contact Robinson’s Festival City Dubai (phone calls, emails, etc.) from here to see if they could connect with Focal USA but there has been no response. Not sure what else to do. I had thought that Focal’s 5 year warranty was worldwide.
