Could someone comment how the UTOPIA sound with the new A&K SP1000 ? Does the SP1000 provide enough power to bring the UTOPIA to it's full potential ? Is the sound "full" enough ?

I'm not sure I'd say full potential but I would say it's a significant gain improvement over the 380. The SP1000 does have a similar SQ to the 380 but put simply more of it. In this price range I'd also recommend you look at the Sony NW-WM1Z unless yo are looking for a device that streams tidal and such.

thanks for your recommendation. As a matter of fact, I already have the SP1000 and now I am looking for the Headphone that will best pair with it...

In that case you should try the pairing between the Utopia and SP1000. Unless you're an extremely loud listener you'll probably like it. The Utopia is notorious for showing the negatives in a system configuration and I don't think you'll find any real negatives in that pairing

Has anyone compared the Utopia with stock pads to the switch to Elear pads on the Utopia? Where can the Elear pads be bought and is the price worth the small changes for most listening to Jazz, female vocals and pop?

This is correct. It's not hard to find whole threads crapping on some or other aspect of a sponsor's product (usually faulty products) that have been going for months, or probably well over a year.

I actually came back to this thread to see if anyone had decided to stick with Elear pads on their Utopia. I'm thinking of getting a pair.

My Utopia No.55X bought on 16 Nov 2016 in Hong Kong. Unlucky the right side of my Utopia did not have any sound on 24 May 2017 and I sent to the agent on the same day. However, up till now (over 2 months time), I still cannot receive my Utopia. Can anyone tell me how long you got back your Utopia as my same case, especially for those in Hong Kong?
