  Just wondering as I can buy them at Headroom in Montana just to name one other dealer who have them right now.

The Elear is more than 4 times the cost. I believe that a well driven HD650 should satisfy most people unless you need super punchy bass.

 
IMO, the bass improvement alone justifies the cost of the Elear.  Plus, the Elear is just an overall more resolving headphone.
 
And if you try to EQ the HD 650 to equal the bass response of the Elear, the HD 650 will begin to audibly distort with bass-heavy music even at relatively moderate volume levels.
 
I know because I've tried it. 

 
 
But if you're perfectly happy with the bass of the HD 650, then the Elear does become a less compelling option.

Why the ranker on here? With some of the posts, if reads more like trolling than really caring about what is going on. Of course businesses need to make money and they want their name out there but they can also and often do, provide a valuable service of supplying information and updates. Information regarding the use of the product and updates as to when available and where you can purchase an item. Jason has made it clear that there are other dealers that will have these. That he purchases a lot of Focal products gives him an open channel to the company and in turn, we can learn in a rapid manner what is going on. This is an enjoyable hobby and for some it is more than a hobby. It doesn't need to be a place to seek attention by negative discourse. Enjoy the music.

Allow me to make a suggestion to you. Call Focal France. Ask why I'm the launch point. Maybe it's because I'm the largest Focal dealer in the world. Maybe it's also because I am the global flagship. If you weren't one day old as a member here you would know that. The way you write it's like you aren't from the US. Maybe you need to wait until your country has them. If you're waiting for Headroom to get them please be patient it will be a while.

OK Jason, time to switch to decaf. On a happier note, I live in Redondo and was thinking of replacing my open headphones, which are Senn 650s. [I switch to closed Mr. S alpha primes when the wife and kids are awake]. I wanted to come in for a listen, compare and hopefully purchase. Question - I have a Moon cable with 4-pin XLR on the 650s - do you think I should dig up the stock cable and bring it with me, or am I overthinking this?

Doesn't appear there is one. Rather, it's just one dealer saying he has exclusivity in order to try to get more sales. As posted above, other dealers have gotten their shipment confirmations too.

Well if he is not shipping yet then fair enough. I certainly had the impression he had the units in stock from his launch event.

But I'm in the UK so I have no real skin in this game

Jason was the premier dealer, as he has a long time relationship with Focal directly. The drama is ridiculous

Really? has anybody out there received their Elear or Utopia purchased from other dealers already?
I already have mine from Jason since last week and I know others have received them even before me.....
Whoever have received them from other dealers please raise your hand....

For those in the UK we are just dealers that will be carrying the utopia and elear as demo. We currently offer pre order for those happy to wait till mid September as we have had notification from focal that this is when they will be available here.

When I had one of the two Elear with the issue, Jason was on the phone with their CEO on the issue. I am pretty sure none of the other dealers calls the CEO directly.

I had discussions with Jason starting from when I ordered to the replacement last Friday. He kept everything upfront and me in the loop on where my order is at and what Focal was doing. He tells it like it is, no sugar coating allowed.

One of the channels was dead on arrival. I called Jason ASAP and he took it from their working directly with Focal over in France.

I wish Jason had a store on the east coast I'd shop with him in a heart beat, I might have went with focal home speakers instead of nautilus speakers if the east coast shops stocked focal high end speakers for demo's with proper powering eqiupment when I bought my nautilus or even when I bought my office ls50's. Jason expand to the east coast. Hoping the Boston shop gets the demos soon.
