Is this a forum or a sales floor?
It's both! Maybe you don't care but a lot of people asked we keep them informed on progress since there were so many delays. If you don't like being kept in the loop, simply don't read them.

Mr. Jason,

Are you new to Audio? , all this "audiophile-nervosa" stuff is a Standard for this Industry.

Schiit gets hammered for the power switch location on the Rear.  ( even I don't like it ).

"Be" issues, pa-leeeeeeeze,

No balanced cable, Tyll says the cables are too long and too darn heavy.

Now we even have a controversy over the Ear Pads, for gods sake.

You should factor in that there "will" be other issues cropping up.

However, for my part, I'd like to understand the flexible surround for the M-dome.   I saw a video of someone gently blowing on it, geez, it moves effortlessly, I'm impressed and hope to learn more.

I've been in Audio since 78 Records, I was a member of the Trade ( as an Importer, Retailer & Manufacturer ), I've always been impressed by Focal stuff and now: Tyll's review has me hooked on owning one of these headphones.

I, like Tyll, am a Sennheiser owner, if these things are more of everything : Count me in!   TTVJ has already promised me one. ( along with a tour of Big Sky Country ).

I'd advise you to not take this Be stuff too seriously, despite the passion folks are showing.  My own wife describes us Audiophiles as "The Lunatic Fringe"!, I have to agree, sometimes.

ps.  I'd love to see a Video of the insides of the Focal manufacturing, could you pass that along for me?

Wonder when crutchfield is gonna get their stock in.
Crutchfield and all authorized Focal Utopia/Elear headphone dealers will begin to receive the Utopia by the end of August. The Elear will reach the same group of dealers about the 3rd week of September. By October there should be plenty of these at authorized dealers to make it easy to purchase. This schedule is the US schedule. It does not reflect other parts of the world.

Actually this is just a sales platform, where people keep getting hyped on a regular basis and not only about the Focals. Someone needs to keep buyers in the hype loop, so headphone companies, "independant" bloggers and event participants (ho ho ho), responsibles behind this forum and shop owners team up to get their piece of cake. Doesn't mean there aren't any valid or real opinions here, but it's hard to distinguish. The "keeping people updated thing" moments ago is just another example of the show running in front

Someone needs to let me know who is supposed to be compensating me for the $thousands I paid to go to the SF meet and the painful task of listening to these headphones and writing about them.

"paid to play"

hmm, seems a rather dismissive comment to make about "volunteers"!   High-End hubris at work!

How do you feel about friends having a joke between each other? Not permitted?

New? lol Not really. My career in audio started in building recording studios back in the late 60's. Building kit tube amps in the early 60's. From there engineering, from there FOH engineering. From there Speaker Designer. Back to FOH and finally The Source AV. Maybe I'm new, what do you think? I'm sure I'm new compared to somebody

Jason is still pretty new to the head fi stuff and doesn't realize all indications of sarcasms and jokes should be strictly listed with at least multiple exclamation marks or a /s!!!

But seriously speaking Jason was just joking around with Currawong. The thread seemed to have tensed up today a little, Jason and Currawong were trying to be a little lighthearted.

Early on when the thread started there was a bunch of the same things happening the last few days. People bringing up the $4k price tag, worries about the Be driver, comments about the cable, and quite a few who didn't trust a bunch of us who posted our impressions or the impressions of early reviewers. Pretty tense in the first month with a lot of back and forths. I checked in every so often but generally felt always so hesitant about posting again. The tides without a doubt do seem to be turning after Tyll posted very positive remarks about the Elear and the Utopia. Early on it felt like there was a lot of distrust between the community and the new big headphones out but now that more and more people can hear the Focals I think the community can see they are the real deal.

For me after hearing the pair on multiple occasions I am considering on grabbing a pair of Elears. I could always add another headphone to my collection

Mmm,...thanks! Looking forward to your write-up. Mighty cables (by reputation) you have there.....on a side note, I'm wondering why Focal Utopia and Elear have different connectors. It is a pain trying to maintain different cables for different headphones. I wish there was a universal connector standard (headphone-side) that everyone follows.
