Thanks for the replies, I listen to a lot of ambient music, so a touch of low end warmth and eased off highs is sometimes welcome, which brings to mind the MG. At the same time I can listen to the DT1990's highs all day, love the detail and somewhat miss it with the Elex, so wonder if the MG would be too dark.
The Elex which measures similar to the Clear OG
1 sounds darker in comparison to the DT1990
2 in measurement and experience, so I imagine the MG being somewhat darker in measurement than the OG
3 would sound even darker in comparison to the DT1990, unless that 12-20khz brings some light. I'm only refering to graphs as I haven't heard the headphones except the Elex and DT1990 and subjective reviews are mixed.

I saw one reviewer making a direct OG vs MG comparison and mentioned the MG is much better at presenting reverb tails, which has me interested to hear it as reverb is one of my favourite qualities of the Elex and listening in general.
I can wait until CanJam next year to test the MG along with others. The brand new second hand OGs will be gone by then, but the reviews are mixed over how much of an upgrade over the Elex the Clear really is, the vast majority suggesting it's not twice as good.
