I have heard the Utopia and liked it better than the original Clear, but you pay a lot for a small difference. So for me it really comes down to how easily you spend the additional money. So if you can find used Utopias for $2200 or so do you hold out over getting the Clears for $900?
I am now using the Dekoni Ltd Stellia pads on the Clears which gives them more definition at the cost of a slightly reduced midrange presence. Would love to compare again to the Utopia to hear if that reduces the gap.
Either way, the Clear Org are really good headphones if you like definition and dynamics. Maybe less so if you prefer a laidback romantic sound, expect basshead level low frequencies, a huge stage or an ethereal transparent sound like a Hifiman Arya for example.
But damn are they good at portraying a realistic bar stage, energy and nuances of music, vocals, guitars, piano… especially at the $1000 price they went for before being sold out.
