Can anyone with both Elear and Clear confirm if the Clear cables are interchangeable with Elear?

Hi,

I have just purchased a pair of these online without hearing them as I would off struggled to get to a demo shop! I get 14 days to send back, pretty sure I will be keeping them. Coming from https://eu.audio-technica.com/headphones/over-ear/ATH-AD2000X that I have had about 3.5 years. Anyone happen to have a pair of 2000x who has a pair of Focal Clear?

I am using a Cambridge Audio DacMagicPlus https://www.cambridgeaudio.com/usa/en/products/hifi-and-home-cinema/dacmagic-plus as my Dac/heaphone amp/pre out. I may look at getting a balanced amp and maybe a balanced dac? The dacmagic has balanced out already but not sure how much difference another dac would make.

Using MusicBee with WASAPI and playing highest quality files I can get at the minute! Any other tips would be appreciated, my current setup sounds great by the way just fancied a change! I nearly got the elears when they first came out so glad I waited...I think.

Thanks,
Sean

Sean,

I haven't hear the ATH-2000X in my system, but have heard everything from Grados (500e, 1000e), AKG K7XX, HD-800, LCD-3and a multitude of CIEM's and the Clear is one of the most dynamic, tonally accurate headphones available. In fact they sent my long term HD-800 (ANAX Mod, Norne Draug 2 Cable) packing. In short, you'll love them!

Are you planning to review them for headphone guru?

I'm no longer affiliated with Guru, I'm sure they have a pair in for review though. I'm on the list to get a review pair of Zach's Auteur in, I'd like to put together a "head to head" as these appear to be the best new dynamics.
