I had that issue with my Plussound Cables and my Empire stuff. I have flat hobby pliers that I used to flatten the pins a bit.A quick question for my esteemed, more experienced IEM audiophiles. One of my favorites will not stay connected to the two pin cable. It's not the cable, it's fine with all my other in-ears, any advice on getting it to stay in place is appreciated!
*Just sharing this on here as well. |
I can say that the 1950’s + LX pairing is very good. It tightens things up all over, and the base regions feel more controlled as a result, allowing the mids and highs to shine through. There is also much added clarity and detail. Of course these are my impressions and it’s obviously best to hear it first hand to see if it works for you.I'm very curious about this and the 1960s clone. Can you post a pic of your 1950s clone please? Have you used it with the LX?
Addictive little suckers aren't they... Very technical as well given the sound sig. Love the mid bass response and complex mids.
I received my replacement VE 8 8th Anniversary a couple days ago—no broken nozzle this time—so I’ve been able to give it a listen and let me just say, sonically, this is a highly musical IEM, perhaps the most musical in my collection. More to say as I get more burn-in time.

Have you seen 64 Audio stock cables? My next step is to replace the rather generic cable. It’s surprising that such an expensive iem comes with a $60 cable (according to the VE website).

It's horrendous. I didn't even listen to it before switching to the Labkable Samurai III... I did test it out at a later date and although it didn't bottleneck the performance as much as I had thought, it really didn't do the VE8 any favours either. In fact, I can see why some may have heard the treble as a little hot when I switched back to It for a couple of songs. My next step is to replace the rather generic cable.
