You can’t beat the convenience of IEMs though. Currently using A12t straight from my iPhone dongle and it’s just incredible.

True. Using Airpods Max (or Pro if it’s in IEM form) with iPhone + Apple Music Dolby Atmos is the ultimate portable solution for me. No cables, no hassle.

It's like when I'm out shooting and someone asks me what the best camera is, and my answer is usually 'the one I have with me'. Same goes for audio. With the IEMs and portable gear we have today, I don't feel like I'm making any compromises to my music listening quality for the convenience of portability.

Same here, LG V30+ with Sony XM4. Good enough for most of the listening I do during the day. Is the IE 900 significantly better? Yes, but not required when I need convenience above everything else. That's for special listens, when I can focus on the music and not work or chores.

Speaking about the rabbit hole has anybody heard or own these?

I tried this last week, MAD16 and MAD24 are technically capable IEMs. The shop manager said MAD24 need some power to drive and i agree.
Overall the presentation are similar between MAD16 and MAD24, with MAD24 a bit warmer and more detail straight from SP2K but there is improvement in soundstage and more transparent when using LPGT. I can't really remember the sound signature, but i remember it's enjoyable but i haven't really click with the tonality at that time.

I have some nice headphones (Utopia and HD800s) but find myself usually listening to iem’s with my desktop systems. They are very very close in sound and far less restricting.

Indeed, although I asked for the ConX Reserve (2x mmcx and 2x 2-pin) as I can't see myself needing the other two connectors (and can always order them on the off chance I do). Rather have spares of the important connectors.
