With new VE Flagships being released, I don't know how @Wyville can work up the discipline to move on from this site.

Instead of Meth-heads, it should be Head-meths because this site is such a drug.

WyWy will promise to stay for just one VE Flagship impression and then it will end up 30 impressions before he knows it.

Move on before it's too late...
lol! Easy man. As they say... "No money. No problems." 🤣

Barnie needed a new car and so there's that. Does Barnie like his new car?

@Damz87 its your calling man. I’m done with LP daps until they install a UI that isn’t made by 3 year olds.
Errr… No thanks 🤣

Dang. A lot of youngsters here. I thought this hobby was for old guys like me.

Shouldn't you young guys be saving your money for a house or something rather than buying cables whose price can wire your entire house?

Got a house, 2 kids, and a cat. All that’s missing is a BLON BL03 + Orpheus and my life will be complete 😅
@aaf evo look how pretty she looks. Could look nice in your house too. Tell him how much he’ll love it @Damz87 😂
100% he will love it. It’ll match his incoming X perfectly too!

That’s the millennial way of life 😂
I am older than that haha. About to finish my PhD. Need music (and buying stuff) to counter the stressful academic life.

You think a PhD is stressful? Better start lining up the credit cards for once you start postdoc hopping. 🤣

I've spent nowhere near enough in porta fi even near a downpayment for a house.

I don't recall what salary average they used, but the benchmark in my metropolitan area (and the surrounding suburbs) is that saving 10% of salary annually will get the down payment for current prices in about ~28 years.

I'll take the equivalent money in iems tyvm.

I am fully in favor of people spending their money on whatever they want. It's just interesting to note how values change over time.

Astral Acoustics White in the house. Interesting colour for an SPC cable. It's more copper tinted in person, but photographs silverish.

Very thin insulation+ design. It's not much thicker than the Socrates despite being a Litz cable.

Fortunately I don’t need to do postdocs; just go straight to the market for jobs as tenure-track assistant professors. Although, now that I am speaking of it, I am not sure whether it will be more or less stressful. I will get paid a lot more though if I do get a good job so that’s a relief.

Nice, best of luck with that! I'm not sure if it compares, but my wife has a tenure track and the pressure is full on. 😜 I do think here in Europe it is a bit different because tenure tracks are only accessible to people with several years international postdoc experience and a very long list of publications. A tenure track contract also literally states "up or out" and there are strict requirements on the number of publications and amount of funding to be brought in during the tenure track. Hopefully you will have less pressure and be able to enjoy it more. Again, best of luck with that and I hope you find a really good position.

Thank you for your kind words! It is the same here in the states. 7-8 years, up or out. Definitely lots of stress and may need music even more to balance things out.

Yep, you will need a lot of music then! 😅 Be sure to balance things out and take good care of your mental health. It gets really competitive and very easy to forget about yourself along the way.

Its nice to see that so many millennial headfiers are doing so well. I think you guys are the cream of the crop. My oldest is 28. He’s struggling to buy his first house, but that’s because entry level house is $1.5M where he lives in Palo Alto.

California is no joke. The market is pretty bad right now. I got lucky that I was able to buy a house last year before the madness ensued.

...
Regarding peer pressure, I actually haven't experienced any genuine peer pressure around here, but I wouldnt be surprised if it has/does happen. But yeah i agree, putting anyone down (in any context, not just here) isn't cool and should be called out.
...

Hmm, you haven't experienced peer pressure because I think you are the root cause of it in this thread, with all your juicy pictures :D
