It's probably the most hardware customized PW cable outside of the Stormbreaker.

Lets hope it doesn't cost as much as the OG stock cable though.

These black parts share the same looks as the updated PW Audio parts so the only customization looks like the UM logo/cable name here.

Hmmm, not sure I like the new look. Would definitely prefer the hexagonal hardware.

Also just looked this one up, PW makes a LOT of limited run stuff.

PW does 1 special edition per year. 2019 was Lucifer and 2020 Mercer Spider. Lucifer was def limited release. Not sure about Mercer Spider though.

The Lucifer has since been terminated with 2-pins and Pentaconn 4.4.

If I remember correctly, both of these were HK-exclusive releases: limited quantities until sold out. Lucifer had like 30 pieces and the Mercer Spider was something like 99 pieces.

I wouldn’t know anything about these releases if I didn’t check the HK audio shops’ Facebook pages.

PWs site doesn't seem to have been updated since the Gold 26 cables and they don't seem to have marketing presence outside of the HK market. I haven't seen anything from them not in Chinese.

It is rather surprising to me that they are so well known by so many people outside of Asia...

Probably word of mouth from those who been to Canjam.

I don't think I've ever heard of PW sending out review samples themselves either. I feel like the Century series was what cemented them on the map outside of Asia.

PW have sent out review samples through dealers or retailers. But, yes, I don’t believe they’ve sent out any on their own. With that said, that isn’t exclusive to them too. It’s probably a logistics-related thing.

I would think that those to be loans from the retailers more than review samples?

It moves the retailers to be the one to deal with any issues, usually in the form of a hold on your card for the duration of the loan.

I was thinking review samples as direct from the manufacturer where they have the right to ask for it back at any time. It does lend a certain air that they're not out to sell themselves and let their products speak.

They weren’t loans. My Monile is a keeper review sample from MusicTeck. Nic and Linus (Headfonia) have received keeper 1960s samples from Music Sanctuary. As far as I know, they were approved of and/or encouraged by PW themselves. An example of a company who strictly do not give away review samples would be someone like Spiral Ear.

Gotcha, I stand corrected.

I saw Musicteck mentioned and thought they were loaners for the longest time. I hope they were compensated by PW. It would suck to have to swallow the cost of one.

Though judging by the popularity of the 1960s, it seems to have worked out.

Obviously Peter thought it was a good idea and the buyers too.

I'm sticking to their cotton sheathed cables which is essentially 1960s and Monile for now (My wallet can't take Orpheus or the LEs)

My pastor might raise an eyebrow or two. One of my favourite Vertigo imprints is name after Satan. So there's thatttt

The Kings, Queen, and Princess with their regal powers. It was a thoroughly enjoyable read @tawmizzzz Thanks for writing and sharing your review :beerchug: You described them really well

Speaking of authorities, a kingdom wouldn't be complete without its jesters. A funny friend, or perhaps foe. It is something that I found only recently. The Elecom AD-C35 Type-C USB to 3.5mm converter (dongle). For less than $10, it is the best dongle I've found so far. I'd highly recommend if anyone has the chance :)
