Does this guy produce any valid measurements or is this a fully tuned by ear design?

Did you sell or trade in the regular versions?
I am gonna keep them for my summer house! Can't force myself to sell...

Sweep sounds + measurements of the standing waves in the seating position. But this only works as guidance, it is still
best to just listen!

When comparing the SQ to regular version, from your perspective what are the main differences?

The playback dacs works amazingly well with the devilles.

I tried the weiss 501 with them and though it was good I def liked PBD more.

My class D atmasphere amps are on the way, excited to see if they work well with the fleetwood Ds.

I sold the aic due to trialing the benchmark ahb2 realizing that more power does help the speakers despite them being so efficient and just felt since I no longer use headphones, to just get a full on speaker amp.

Im also down the line going to try the technics 700 dac/amp integrated digital amp as the owner of fleeteood John recommends them often so naturally am bit curious.

So far for me, changing out dac or amp with the devilles has changed its own sound quite a bit.

Having a blast so far... the vocals on the devilles are just beautiful.

Shout out to @Roasty for recommending the class d atmasphere monos.... exciting stuff for class d stuff lately aka agv audions, atmasphere class d monos, jeff rowland class d stuff etc.

What got me curious about the atmasphere monos were that the company is known for OTL tubes but he risked it all by releasing a class D. It potentially devalues all his previous work and he still stands by the class D being the future not giving any Fs.

The guy has been an absolute gentleman on the forums despite being bashed by multiple people and multiple past customers as they want to hold onto the past. I never actually spoke to him via text or in person or phone. He doesn't visit headfi threads either I assume.

Exciting stuff.

SQ is better, it is somewhat brighter but more clear and nueanced.

Still quite shocked you bought the sq version AND keeping standard one. Been enjoying my pair of SQs immensely, so much so that I stopped using headphones.

Nuts.

I am very sad to admit that I also stopped listening to the headphones 😭

I will keep the standards one for home listening and use SQs in my studio. I know it is illogical, but I love them.

Shout out to Daimon Soundproofing NY for the work. There are not too many good soundproofing companies around in NY. Bulent the owner does not skimp on materials and prices/quotes competitive. Extremely happy with the work!

Photos of some of the goodies... top layer to bottom.

1. Rockwool Insulation (I know some opt for regular insulation, personal choice here)
2. Channels
3. Mass Loaded Vinyl
4. Two 5/8" Boards with Green Glue in Between

Extremely happy with the work, highly reccomend.

Beautiful acoustics, mine is coming together as well. Wow I see the OMA/Fleetwood Panel! How much was that per panel?

HUGE!

The whole thing is about 15k, but it is just too beautiful, I had to have it!

Talking about accustics, I was a bit stingy and looked for old office accoustic panels for cubicle separation, you can get one under $100 and they are free standing. It was a really nice way to experiment and I love that they look different!

15K per piece? I see a few of them in your room...
