Just read from a link in jaben.net about fubar 3 (being dac+amp), any early adopters got any information to share here?

Btw, I believe the Little Country Tube amp is a higher end product and costs much more than the iCute amps? I got the Class A Beyond which I find very good and definitely powerful enough for my 250ohms Beyers DT990. If it did not perform as well, perhaps you would want to check for any gain setting, or with the seller?

As I once said, LC isn't designed to drive high impedance 'phone. As reported by a reviewer, LC sounds best when driving headphone @ <100ohms (also mentioned by the review, LC sounds best with K701). This means that although it sounds great with K701 (62ohms), it will not perform well with K501 (120ohms). This is not a 'defect' of LC, it is simply what it is designed to be.

BTW, did anyone know the price of Fubar II (or any other FireStone products) @ Jaben.net? I am really interested in getting one

I got my LC from WickedDigital, Great service! My first LC seems to come with a defected tube and they replace it no question asked.

Anyway, I am living closer Jaben now, so my next FireStore is gonna come from them.

id say the sound signature with the stock opamps is sharp and depending on headphone, is a lil bright. ive changed both opamps in them to the 2107 and its slightly warmer/ darker and airier (is that a word?) now...much preferred with the 2107.

when running on the mains the battery will be charged at the same time..and ur not suppose to charge the batteries for more than 24 hours at a time.

but u can still run it off solely from the mains...thats what im doing

. in order to do that...refer to pic...u need to open up the case and unplug the one in the yellow box. (ignore the yellow oval, this pic was actually for someone else in another forum)

once done, u can run solely off the mains without worrying about the battery

Well guess what? I visited Jaben 2days ago and Uncle Wilson is kind enough (as always) to let me to had a look at the new Fubar III (NOT prototype, the real stuff, one of the very first production units). It is Fubar II with the power of Cute series. Unfortunately I didn't bring my notebook there to test it out. Anyway, from the look of it, it is quite promising

I am kinda confused here. I am thinking about buying a Spitfire DAC but I don't know what the price is. If I am linking from Head-Fi I am getting a price of $250,- and if I am entering the site another way I am getting a price of $399,-

Which one is it?

Also I would like to ask if the dedicated power supplies can be had with a grey front faceplate instead of a black one.

And last but not least: How much of a step up would it be if I get a Spitfire combined with a Cute Beyond amp. I've got a Porta Corda USB right now which I am using with a Grado 325i a DT880 (250) and a HD250. I am using the DT880s most of the time. ( I am also thinking about an Opera right now - arg options options)

I would really appreciate it if someone can shed a light on these things. Thanks in advance.

As an after thought, for Canadians that might be interested in Firestone stuff, I got mine on eBay from these guyshere. They're in Alberta. The shipping is quick and they're great to deal with in my experience. The Fubar took about four days to get to me in Ontario.

Don't know the price... Uncle Wilson got only one production unit with him and I am not planning to buy any amp so I didn't ask.

As for how it looks, I don't have a picture of it. Of course, it still has the same case like all the cute series, except it has 2 mini jack (one on top of the other) next to the volume knob. Also, there are more LED indicators (2 or3). Last but not least, there is a Fubar logo on it.
