I went with the largest Hammond 1455 case because it fits the board, transformer and should still have plenty of room for a diamond buffer board.
These are a little expensive though, something like $25-$30 each. Both of the ones currently in Hammonds will be for sale soon enough, the one I'm keeping for myself will be in a big wooden box originally meant for photographs that I bought at Walmart for $10

please note that such amps have significant dc transients at their outputs during power up and down. Unless you use a mute delay it is strongly recommended to wait about 10sec after power up before plugging in your headphones and unplug your headphones before power down.
No, the source should be fine (shouldn't be any transients there). I hope you don't have any kids running around with the AC connections exposed like that
