I demoed the Heaven C last Saturday, by far the best (or should I say 'most agreeable' ) of the FAD's IEM I have heard so far (out of Heaven A and FI-BA-SS).

Interesting, so you heard a substantial difference vs. the Heaven A? Care to elaborate? (IIRC you didn't like the A1 and SS much)

I was going by memory there so it really is not a direct comparison. I had recalled that A1 being 'okay sounding' and SS being 'way to bright' when I demoed them both (on previous times). Generally speaking, I almost always find FAD's IEM to be too harsh for my taste but Heaven C is one that doesn't 'offend me', so to speak. In fact, I rather enjoy listen to it and thought it is fairly refined sounding as opposite to my general impression of FAD's house sound.

Thanks, seems to me that we hear the Heaven C more similarly than the Heaven A, which I'm also quite fond of. That said, even with Sony hybrids my Heaven C exhibit slightly more sibilance than I remember from the A. Hmmm...

Does the chrome plating at least look really nice, so that could be worth the extra $60? or does it look a bit cheap and shiny?

Ermm, isn't chrome supposed to be shiny? Anyway, none of them looks cheap imo, and shiny (Heaven C) or matte (Heaven A) is a matter of personal taste:

I heard it last week, I never heard the A1, but from its looks, it really is just a chrome version of the A1. The sound is very similar from all descriptions of it as well. Also, the A1 is no longer available, so I'm guessing that it is the direct replacement to the A1. I made the SB sound a little dark by comparison, but the SB had more body.

I listened to both the other day briefly and found them pretty much identical.

Also I prefer the chrome plating of the Heaven C. It IS shiny, but in a classy way, and doesn't look cheap. The matte Heaven A does look a little cheap IMHO and I wonder
if that's one of the reasons they've replaced it...

In other news, I listened to the new Adalgio V with their "chrome" plating (I think its shiny plastic) and they DID come off a bit ostentatious and cheap.
