Final Audio D7000

Per the reviewer: D7000 bass > D8000 - more energy in the bass region, great for pop music, great for male vocals, D8000 treble > D7000. But he never made clear if that was D8000 or D8000 Pro. Comparisons were also made to the DCA E3. Hopefully, I get to try the D7000 this weekend.

D7000 bass better than D8000 ? :O Should be a banger then for a bassheads. I really enjoyed OG D8000, but it was slightly too heavy for me hence I replaced it with another flagship.

If pricing won't be too spicy it will be an interesting option for warmer presentation

Final says, the D7000 is a 'different take on a flagship sound'. All of this for around 2K.
I wonder, how different the 7 is to the 8 series. Also, perhaps the market is getting a bit more 'sane' with flagship releases around 2K instead of 4K-6K? Let's hope.
I doubt it'll be below 3k. It's around 10% cheaper than base D8000 so that would make list price around 3100-3200 in EU if comparing to D8K. Maybe 2999.

Interesting still as it weighs around 90g less than the D8k. The D8000 Pro LE is my favourite headphone so far so would be interested to hear this. Probably weight reduction comes from single sided magnets instead of double sided.

I used the link above that says ¥398,000, which is app. £2100/$2600. But you are right, it is likely to be around $3K once it leaves Japan.

"Differences in sound quality of D7000/D8000/D8000 Pro Edition

By using newly designed drivers such as the newly developed "Pina Align Diffuser," the D7000 delivers sound that combines the volume and open bass and delicate treble that are the hallmarks of the D8000 and D8000 Pro Editions. It has a high resolution in the string and string bands, and is also a little closer to the ear, making it sound very smooth.

In contrast to the D8000, which was good at listening to classical music with a wide dynamic range, the D8000 Pro Edition provides sound quality with more resolution when listening to music with a narrow dynamic range, such as pops and rock. On the other hand, "D7000" seems to be located right in the middle."

Well I was a few weeks out from ordering the Yamaha YH5000se. I'll have to give this some serious consideration. I currently don't own a planar so this would definitely check that box. I'd be curious about the physicality of thus headphone. Having attended a couple of CanJams I'm aware that planars in general lack that physical engagement that I love from dynamics. That said, I know some planars do this trait well too. I'm interested and subscribed.

Try to give one of the finals a listen. Although if you are in the market for the Yamaha, they are on totally opposite ends of the spectrum sound wise.

I've read a few reviews on Chinese and Taiwanese forums, and most of them (at least from what I've seen) said that the D7000 feels more like a side-grade rather than a down-grade compared to the D8000/D8000 Pro series
Sounds like music to my ears. Final are basically giving you the same package as the D8000 Pro LE but with a tuning that caters towards modern genres with more of a focus on Bass and mid range. I really liked the D8000 Pro and all that I'm seeing on the D7000 sounds awesome to me. Could be the end game electronic genre headphone that i've been looking for.

It is being sold as a co-flagship, so it makes sense

Hearing how good this product is makes me hopeful for what's to come with the X8000.

It is exciting. Middle ground flagship side-grades that are somewhat obtainable. D-7000 reminds me how the Empyrean 2 and DCA E3 fit into there companies listed catalog of headphones for pricing/performance.
D-7000 ? I bet I’ll love it, but it means in no way that I will be giving up my original D-8000.

Look at this thing? No shot. 🤑

My biggest question though. Will the D-7000 serve up enough difference in its Sonic signature to complement the D-8000 making it worth owning? I doubt it.
