The FA7S is equipped with 6 balanced armature drivers, with each set of drivers handling a specific frequency range having their own sound chambers so as to greatly minimize frequency interference. Both the low frequency set and high frequency set of drivers are made by Knowles – resulting in greatly extended, robust, yet controlled bass as well as highly detailed, delicate treble. The mid-frequency driver is a custom unit exclusively made for FiiO, with lush vocals and an exceptionally pure, natural sound.

Multi-driver IEMs require a precise crossover system other than the drivers themselves applied. Therefore, we expertly designed the FA7 with a three-way crossover, which enables each driver in an average 1:1:1 way and separates them using the "2+2+2" method. Besides, each frequency range takes two different drivers which are designed in an electronic and structural crossover system for precise cutting – thus resulting in a more realistic, balanced sound fully capable of rendering every last detail.

From A to Z, we have been exploring more advanced workmanship to make for a premium using experience for our users. The FA7S is made of medical-grade 316L stainless steel meticulously handled through a powder metallurgy process- 1000 degrees Celsius of high temperature sintering after injection molding to eventually form the whole earphone construction. Its faceplate is processed through a five-axis CNC machine, and every unit is polished by hand for a shiny, dazzling, mirror-like finish. In addition, the 316L stainless steel goes through a PVD electroplating coating process for significantly increased rigidity.

There are more lovable features, such as the high quality silver-plated monocrystalline copper cable, angled MMCX connectors, twist-lock swappable audio plugs and Hi-Res Audio certification.

Is it less bass-orientated than the previous model FA7 or not?
FA7 suffered a bit from bass bleeding in the mid area
Despite that, the vocals were trully exceptional in the FA7......... BUT it was a massively bass orientated iem
And secondly and most importantly is it a semi open back design like FH5s ??

FiiO's Aliexpress store says if you order today you will receive it in 11 days. Don't know that I would count on that. I ordered a FiiO iem from their Aliexpress store on September 11 and DHL says they received notification that the package was ready for pickup on September 14. DHL has not picked up the package yet so I have my doubts I will receive the package by the 22, which would also be 11 days from the order date.

Compared with FA7, FA7S has upgraded the Balanced Armature configuration, its resolution is stronger, the vocal is more poisonous, and the overall sound is more transparent.
The FA7S has the semi-open design. But it is a Balanced Armatures headphone, and the Balanced Armatures driver doesn't require external cavity.

The estimated delivery is created by the Aliexpress system directly. Generally, the shipping via DHL would be shorter than two weeks. But because of the covid-19 and the strict customs, sometimes the shipping could be longer. Hope you could receive your package soon.

Wished to was possible to choose beyween the UTWS5 and the stock cable plus the zillion connectors. I won't use any of those so that's like throwing away $200. Then, on top of throwing that away you have to fork over money for their UTWS5. Insane. 2021!

What's the sound signature?

The FA7S tuning style is balanced, with strong sound reproduction, high resolution, good treble extension, fine and transparent. Its bass is moderate with high-density. The FA7S can cope with most styles.
Compared with FA7, FA7S has upgraded the Balanced Armature configuration, its resolution is stronger, the vocal is more poisonous, and the overall sound is more transparent.

Good looking IEMs. The cables are from the FH5s pro and the FD3 pro models. LC-RC Which matches up well with the FA7S.
So far I am hearing a nicely balanced signature. It seems to be the new Fiio tuning now a days. Which will appease everyone. Some folks like more treble some more bass but none hate a balanced sound tuning. At least you shouldn't. Fiio never makes balanced boring however. These got some solid punch, spark to the trebles with an excellent sense of stage with good depth. Haven't heard a recent Fiio earphone that had a narrow stage. True strengths to a good fundamental BA design, its technicalities stand out. So far so good. Will have much more to say once I get some burn in happening for them. These are yet another compelling product from Fiio.
