mamema, please post the link to the battery you found on aliexpress. I did a search just now, and only found one product claiming to be for the x7ii - if its photos are accurate, it will not work (at least not without the board-swap surgery I alluded to with my last post) as its connectors are totally different. You can kinda see in the out-of-focus background of my second photo (last post) what the circuit board permanently attached to the Li cell looks like (and its connector). The Li cell attached to it is the X5iii replacement I purchased, after I tried swapping the cells.

To remove the battery, you will need something to warm up the back of the X7ii. Also ideally a long, very slim and strong plastic putty knife or spatula. There is an adhesive pad keeping it stuck to the back of the case.
If memory serves me (it was a long time ago now, check my past posts in this thread) I was able to open it up and remove the battery after removing the screen and main board (which stay together). The biggest trick (after removing the two screws holding the bottom of the screen, visible after removing the amp section) was figuring out that there are 3 clips on each side of the screen that clip into detents in the side of the case. I believe you also need to pry off the thin metal panel stuck to the top quarter of the back of the case, to remove a small WiFi board (antenna?) so that doesn't hang you up - at least I did this first, as I was trying to figure it all out...
Hopefully the photos I attach will be visible and give you a clearer idea...
I had the same issue recently described here (see my earlier posts). Tried buying a replacement X5iii replacement battery, removing both Li cells from their attached small circuit boards and soldering the new cell to the old x7ii board - unfortunately after doing that, that board was not supplying any voltage at all on its outputs. Not sure what went wrong. I should probably dig it out again and quadruple-check in case I just had a bad solder joint that I didn't catch earlier...
Good stuff.
Thanks.

you may be right: https://de.aliexpress.com/i/32970213700.html
BTW: a seller (not in this forum) of a used device, mentioned, that the FiiO Support should/would help. At least in Germany where i'm located. So perhaps this could be a solution

You may have luck with support - if they give you a way to purchase a new battery and that solves your problem, please let us know. I didn't argue with them, but the only option they were offering me was to ship the unit overseas for possible repair.
I'm in Canada with a unit no longer under warranty, and wasn't interested in shipping it long distances and paying an unknown amount of money for an an unknown likelihood of success. I'm also an incurable DIY'er, but really didn't want to spend money and wait who-knows-how-long for any feedback. Since I've been working from home the past 5 years and was using the x7ii as a DAC 98% of the time, I just bought a desktop DAC - first a Schiit Modi 3+ (which I wasn't really impressed by) and then a Khadas Tone 2 Pro which sounds a lot better to my ears.
Such a shame about the x7ii - I REALLY liked the sonics but I don't want to buy a new DAP or DAC every couple of years, nor do I want to see these things go into the landfill or so-called "recycling" that often.

German FiiO support came back with this:
- at the moment we're not able to offer batteries for all devices.
- the import of batteries is very expensive and laborious.
- you can ask us in half a year, possibly we have a solution then.

Well, meh!

I had to pull out my multimeter to test something else, so decided to recheck my battery connections. Turns out I do indeed have a faulty connection between the Li cell and the attached board (not with my solder joint but the cell itself has a stiff metal tab attached to the much more fragile metal strip coming out of the cell, and joint between those two is intermittent). So there's a chance the board might work OK once I repair that - and if so, give us an indication of whether the noise problem several of us experienced can be remedied by replacing only the Li cell. May take a few days for me to get to it, as I'm really busy right now and this is a delicate task that I don't want to perform in a rush. I will update again with the results of that effort. Hopefully the charge on that cell hasn't dropped below a usable level over the months it's been sitting there.

Queue "Epic Trailer Theme"... It Lives!!! At least so far :)
Not sure whether the first repair attempt failed due to the bad joint, or I just didn't try the right boot-up sequence. The cell measured > 3.7V so I didn't think it would need a charge. When I resoldered it, I still wasn't measuring more than a tiny voltage on the board connector. Knowing that sometimes complex power supply circuits won't supply "real" voltage and/or current until they first sense a specific load, I decided to try connecting it anyhow (nothing to lose...) Still nothing - player showed no sign of life. Then for the heck of it, I decided to plug it into USB power. And it started! First showing it needed a charge, and then after 10 minutes starting the OS, showing 39% battery capacity, and most importantly, playing music without the nasty distortion. After a few minutes I disconnected USB power to make sure it would continue to run off the battery, and it has while I've been typing this.
Now I just need to reassemble the poor little thing. I will post again if I run into any problems or negative fallout from what I've done.

Would just like to confirm that apple music lossless works on this device? Saw someone in our country selling it for a relatively good price and would like to try it out… thanks in advance :)

The Apple Music app does not work at all on the X7 II (won't open - "Unfortunately, Apple Music has stopped.").

Dear friend,

You could try the Apple music app in older version instead. Since the Android version of the X7II is old, there may be some compatibility problem with the new version app.

Best regards

Hello.
I'm trying to use Fiio X7mkII as usb DAC to play DSD from the PC. It's connected through FiiO K5 amplifier.
I've tried virtually every combo for foobar2000: sacd input with wasapi/asio output, DoP/Native DSD via asioproxy/dsdtranscoder/dsdprocessor/asio+dsd, driver versions 4.47/5.22, firmwares 1.0.6/1.1.2 JP/Fidelizer etc. and other players too.

The bottom line is:
1) Native DSD (via asio) does not work at all, FiiO Control Panel says that "asio is not active"; i've seen somewhere that X7 (1 gen, not mine) had problems with native DSD after going from android 4 to android 5; and X7markII is android 5.1 out of the box; does taht mean that native DSD is not supported in DAC mode?
2) DoP looks like it works: FiiO Control Panel says that ASIO is active (PCM mode) and shows 176.4kHz/24bit (same as the player itself) for DSD64 record - but there is a complete silence in headphones.

Converting to PCM in SACD obviously works, but can't get past 192kHz which is quite a low limit.

Could please someone confirm my findings considering native DSD or give any clue about why DoP is not working either?

Yes, sorry that X7MKII does not support native DSD when using as USB DAC.

Hi, thanks for clarification!
Are there any plans to add native DSD support later?
Are there any suggestions about no sound coming with DoP scenario?
No this plan, sorry.
Please switch to PCM output mode to check again:
