hello what is the better solution for a 250 ohm headphone ( Beyerdynamic DT 990PRO ) Ive the Stock Am3A at the moment this is not really loud. My Question is: AME3 or AM3D - more power at 3.5 or 4.4mm? Cable is not symmetrical to the headphone

While I've never used a Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro on either of my modules, I've tried my AM3E with the Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro 250Ω at a store, it gets loud enough for me to listen to it, on high gain with vol. at around 100. Then again that has a 102dB SPL instead of 96dB. But I did notice it benefits from a dedicated amp compared to the 3.5 on the AM3E, it just sounds clearer and has more impact.

For your second question, usually the balanced gives a lot more power than the 3.5mm, but with these beyerdynamic's that is not an option.

And now for your first question;
A quick overview of the power output of the AM2, AM3 and AM5 modules.
3.5mm
AM2; 300 mW 32Ω, 30 mW at 300Ω
AM2A; 420 mW 32Ω, 42? mW at 300Ω <= 300Ω is not stated
AM3; 250 mW 32Ω, 25 mW at 300Ω
AM3A; 150 mW 32Ω, 17 mW at 300Ω
AM3B; 158 mW 32Ω, 18 mW at 300Ω
AM3D(C); 150 mW 32Ω, 15 mW at 300Ω
AM3E; 152 mW 32Ω, 18 mW at 300Ω
AM3.5Pro; 152 mW 32Ω, 18 mW at 300Ω <= Limited edition variant of the AM3E, China Only
AM5; 500 mW 32Ω, 55 mW at 300Ω

2.5mm bal, 4.4mm bal, 3.5Pro bal
AM3; 420 mW 32Ω, 70 mW at 300Ω
AM3A; 400 mW 32Ω, 63 mW at 300Ω
AM3B; 533 mW 32Ω, 70 mW at 300Ω
AM3D(C); 510 mW 32Ω, 60 mW at 300Ω
AM3E; 498 mW 32Ω, 70 mW at 300Ω
AM3.5Pro; 498 mW 32Ω, 70 mW at 300Ω <= Limited edition variant of the AM3E, China Only (3.5pro bal instead of 4.4mm bal)

AM2/AM2A/AM5 don't have balanced outputs.

I know I've only shown the mW, but as mW = Vrms x mA, it's a more realistic way show it.

And now calculating the required mW using a headphone power calculator; listed values with the average measured values between the brackets.
With a 250Ω (267Ω) impedance and 96 (93) dB SPL the mW required to get them fairly loud at 110dB is around 25 (50) mW, with a more realistic listening requirement of around 2.5 (5) mW and lower.

If you indeed don't get the loud enough with the AM3A, most likely the only modules you could use are the AM2, AM2A and the AM5 as they are the only ones that actually have a real increase in power. The AM2 and AM5 are not easy to get as I think they've been discontinued, so the AM2A is your best bet to power them.

- album cover is too small
- The codec, bitrate, kHz and kbps
:cry:
Dear user,

The resolution of the X7MKII is not than big as the player like M11. If you enable the bottom navigation bar, you will find the space you marked is very small.

Besides, you could read the sampling rate information by clicking the album art area twice to switch the page.

So we may keep this design for X7MKII.

Best regards

Would you prefer to get a AM3D-Type C module for your X7MKII?

We are checking out our users' demands and taking into consideration whether to sell the AM3D-Type C module separately. So it will be highly appreciated if you could share your option with us. And please update us the country you are locating if you are interested in this. Thanks in advance!

*This investigation does not promise that the AM3D-Type C will be sold individually.

Best regards

Very nice initiative, it may give a new breath of life to Fiio x7 series. Despite of old android, x7 II with AM3D type C could be still a competive option to choose from mid-level players.
Missing of type C was one of the reasons i'm using more other players and more than that, even BTR5 is more affordable option.

No I wouldn't personally. I don't see the point. Just to charge faster? It would be useless with the K5.
