I was trying to use Tidal on my X7 and it keeps coming up with "Getlossless.com is not found". I remember tying a couple of years ago and giving up for some reason.

This is a question to FiiO. Why don't you make a proper leather case for the X7ii? Dignis has told me they won't be, so a case like the supplied one, but in real leather. All you would have to do is change the material, as you have the design already.

Before anyone mentions the Miter case, it's about 1mm short, leaving the top of the DAP poking out. The bottom corners, which are perhaps the most venerable area are exposed, it's not real leather and the three cuts outs at the bottom aren't completely centralised, which may be an issue when using larger plugs.

I use coaxial digital output for dsd iso file to HOLO Spring DAC for play DSD64 but X7 mark2 sending PCM 176KH instead DSD64. But DSF,DIFF file is sending native dsd to HOLO DAC . I have so many iso file not convert to DSF file I having problem to find software to do that so I was think Fiio can do it but not working so far

I've just received an answer from Tidal. They say it's a message that comes up when the service isn't available in your area. I'm in Jersey, Channel Islands which is part of the UK. So what now, Tidal!?

I think it has to do with the Channel Islands' special legal status within the UK (think taxes, not being part of the EU etc.). Keep in mind that TIDAL's catalogue differs from region to region due to licensing. I'm no expert when it comes to this stuff, but they might need additional licenses to operate in the Channel Islands and being a very small market, it might not be profitable for them to acquire those.

When trying to sign up to TIDAL using a VPN server in a location where their service isn't available (I chose Kenya, simply because it is the most "exotic" option my VPN provider offers), I also get the message about getlossless.com. However - and this should be good news for you - when logging into my regular European TIDAL account, I was able to stream music, despite being virtually in Kenya.

So opening an account using an IP from a territory where TIDAL is available should do the trick for you. Your TIDAL region is determined by location you are in in when creating your account, not your current physical location.

Slightly off topic, I have only been able to demo the Onkyo DPX1-A I use Focal Elear, AT-Mx50x, and Shure 846, to be honest I'm not that impressed with the sound, sonically it's very clean and crisp but lacks a lot of mid bass and sub bass even when using the balanced output with the ELEAR and Audio Techs (my AT have a balanced mod) I know both headphones can reproduce, I also use the sam cans with an decent headphone amp, actually I think my Onkyo TX-NR929 receiver sounds best I run it flat (pure audio) mode and with either headphone or IEM and it produces a very pleasing soundstage with plenty of mid bass and sub bass. Is it the Burr-Brown DAC my ear loves? It seems so much more pleasing to my ear than the Onkyo DPX Sabre DAC, I also have read the the AK Dacs that the DX150 and 2000 are a bit warmer than the Sabre models in which the DPX1 and Fiio X7MKii have, they are different models of Sabre dacs though, and I am unable to compare them.
I'm thinking about making the switch to this, the the Fiio X7mkii, or DX200. Or anything in the 400-700 range.

I'm not to concerned about google play, although as a subscriber I have used it with the Onkyo, but whatever DAP I end up with will be used as for FLAC, Hi-Res, and DSD playback, I reserve my phone for Google Play Music and other streaming services and apps, I think my iPhone along with a Dragon Fly red is more than sufficient and ok sounding.

I guess I'm just looking for more punch, impact, and low end...

Any ideas ot thoughts?

In my opinion DPX1-A has a slighlty boost on middle bass than X7 ii, if you want to have a more punch, impact, I think the best way is to change your headphone.... To me, X7 gen ii is more neutral than DPX1-A in terms of bass quantity,

Thanks so much for your detailed reply. I took a quick look at free VPN servers and they seem severely limited with their bandwidth allocation. Are there any other realistic alternatives to Tidal?

Browser extensions often "leak" your real IP (and thereby location).

Try the free/trial version of an OpenVPN-based desktop app like Avira's: https://www.avira.com/en/avira-phantom-vpn

It should do the trick. Just make shure to use a server within your intended TIDAL region (UK would be the obvious choice here).

Connect, register at TIDAL, disconnect - that's it. You can simply uninstall the app afterwards.
