I said my wife I was sparing for a tattoo in the last two years... but at last moment, decided not to make the tattoo and get some audio gear.
She was happy with my decision. ...

Btw, X7 drives Clear without a problem with stock AM3A but better with AM5. But this Questyle is a beast, it really pushes the better Clear has to give. I had to push down the gain switches to low position, dynamics and transparency is outstanding.

Finally got her in front of me. I put just one 200gb card in it for now and it loaded pretty quick and now comparing it with my Onkyo DP-X1 playing one of my favorite bands A Perfect Circle.

I only have one product with a balanced cable and I mainly use my HD650s and I will soon have my Hifiman HE4xx which neither have a balanced cable. Would the AM5 be a recommended purchase to help drive these better? Or would I benefit from balanced cables instead to get more power from the AMA3?

To me, AM5 is clearly better. I tested with my HE1kv2 SE on AM5 and balanced on AM3A and found that AM5 sounded better with a bit more authority and organic sound reproduction. I think the difference comes mainly from their op-amps (OPA1622 on AM3A and MUSES02 on AM5) followed by slightly higher output on AM5.
Depending on the make, but cables usually costs more than AM5 module (US$99). So my recommendation is going with AM5.
