Please, any one care to elaborate what does the Dac filter (gradual/steep) do? or how it affect the sound quality? also what is the difference between them? thanks.

Steep and Grdual are two algorithms in the process of digital filtering. It is hard to tell which is better. Because of the algorithms difference, the sound sense are not same. You can select the one you like according to the headphone you use and the sound quality you like.

Apologies if this has been answered but a rudimentary search didn't come up with anything!

Can anyone point me in the direction of someone who makes custom leather DAP cases? I want a real leather case for my X7 like the tan FiiO one but with a cutout for the card slot (I change it a lot depending on mood - I carry about 8 cards with me at all times with different genres of music). I found someone who makes custom cases on Etsy but he doesn't do one for the X7

I'm in the UK but I don't mind ordering from anywhere and I'm in no massive hurry. Any help much appreciated!

I have looked at the Tuff-Luv but it's not exactly what I want. Ideally I want something shaped just like the FiiO case but with an additional cut-out. If I can't find a custom case, though, I may end up with one!

It's ideal, except I have the balanced amp module, so I need an extra hole! (and if it's getting custom-made, I'd like to change colours!) They're on holiday for the rest of the month due to Chinese New Year but I'll post here if I get an interesting answer!

I have several problems with my 400 gb card with my fiio x7.
I cant copy files when i have 25 free gb left approx.
When i put files with a computer, i could outpass the limit but when i put on my x7, it recognize the card but it said that there are no files on it....

I was also a problem with my 64 gb but the sd card was faulty. I even have some issue with the sd card put on my phone....

An SD card needs to format FAT32 regardless of size. Linux can do it but for Win may need additional tools.

FiiO X7 can't write high capacity microSD. It you write files to a 400 GB microSD card via FiiO X7 connected by USB, most probably thing is that the microSD will be corrupted at the file structure level needing to be reformatted. Occurs the same to me with a not microSD XC USB adapter. But using a new microSD XC USB adapter and formating the 400 GB card in FAT32 or exFAT or NTFS runs well in FiiO X7 (and recognize all the files) as long as no write files to that microSD card using FiiO X7.

New update for fidelizer rom available for fiio x7, also i have downloaded and installed foobar mobile (i use foobar2000 on my computers) and it is brilliant, it has crossfeed, replay gain and upsampling (plus many other dsp settings), i am using the following and am really enjoying the sound:

fidelizer /foobar (crossfeed setting 3, upsampling to 96000, replay gain on tracks) with fiio x7/am2/er4-rx and it is the best sound (for my tastes) that i have found so far.
