Hey George, I'm curious about this. Does tethering work for you, from your phone to your X7ii?
The only way I could ever get my X7ii test unit to tether was by completely turning off all wifi encryption (something I'm not willing to do).

I think there might be some confusion... I only have X7mkii, not the original X7

Also, it works flawlessly, Mi Max 2 used as a hotspot to X7mkii .

Sorry - I guess I'm on the wrong thread (though I have this problem with my X7 too), but I was talking about the X7ii. With the default WPA2 PSK encryption, neither X7 nor X7ii will tether to my Galaxy S8. (But, weirdly, they will both tether to my LG V30.) Are you able to tether with WiFi encryption on, and if so, what type of encryption is it using?

Since you know it's an issue with all X7's why aren't you pushing this to all X7's? People don't want to sideload an APK and hell for that matter many don't even know how. You guys really do need to look at hiring some new software engineers. Your track record over the last couple years really isn't that good in this regard.

Sorry folks maybe asking a dumb question but is the X7 Mkii worth the extra money to move up to from the X7 original? I still have the odd issue where I pause the player and when restarted, the timer counts but no sound comes from the unit, you have to stop and start it a few times or sometimes switch it off completely and back on to get it to give an output again. Is the Mkii much better now than the MKi?

I haven't experienced anything like thye issues you describe there. My understanding is that AM03A is much sweeter than AM01 at this point. I have not tested them both, but X7mkii is up to the other flagships out there, if you like a really neutral and sweet sound

How to upgrade the FiiO Music app?

In the latest firmware of X7-FW3.3.4, we have allowed the individual update of FiiO Music. There will be update push for the FiiO Music.

1. Online update
Connect to WiFi, open the FiiO Music and wait for a few seconds and the update notice will pop up. Click "install" to upgrade the FiiO Music directly.
If choose "Next prompt", it will skip the update for once and will pop up notice next time you open the FiiO Music app. If choose "Ignore", it will skip the update of this version.

2. Manual update
a. Set the player to storage mode and connect to computer, drag the downloaded FiiO Music (.apk) to the internal storage of your player.
b. Disconnect the connection and enter ES file manager, find the FiiO Music app in internal_sd and click install.

When the FiiO Music is successfully installed, you could go to FiiO Music>Setting>About APP>FiiO Music VXXX and find out the version of the app, for example FiiO Music V3.4.1

Took delivery of my Ibasso DX200 today and have just loaded it up with my music library and am playing via the Mango player (equivalent to Pure Music mode in the X&).

Even with zero burn in right out of the box I prefer the sound of the DX200.

There is a lot that I like about the X7, but I could not get past feeling some fatigue from the sound. A touch too bright and thin for me - and that wears thing after about an hour. YMMV.

I am quite sensitive to a bright sound, so other folks might not have the issues that I do with the X7.

If FiiO could address the tonality in a FW upgrade? I am running 3.3.3 and it just doesn't work for me.

Hey, that issue of fatigue and bright sound is due to the firmware 3.3.3 i had the same issue but when i returned back to 3.3.0 the sound become more warm less fatiguing and more wider.
