Yo guys, with this post I'm not saying there isn't a problem scanning a large number of tracks, personally I don't have it but my biggest card is a 200Gb with only 5300 tracks - I have no issues with scan or library but I've learned a few things along the course and just want to point a few of the most common that happened to a noob like me, just in case someone else has:

1. I had problems with card format, ExFat solved it, card contents copied and pasted only (I know it didn't for everybody).
2. Badly built .cue files are a problem also as everybody knows, just review the ones from albums X7 can't index
3. Space in internal memory!!! FiiO music app can take several gigabytes of space (imageloader folder mainly) - at some time not all my tracks were scanned and it was that
4. Counting of tracks with single FLAC+cue sheet - incorrect results in counter, it says "1 track" when there should be "14 tracks" i.e. This was a problem at least till 3.0.9, can't say for sure on latest FW

My 2 cents

I suspect the problem is that. I am not using flac nor cue nad my sd card is formatted directly from Fiio X7 settings panel.

The folder FiiOMusic > album that stores all the cover arts of my files inside the fiio X7 is taking 1,37GB with about 7700 files. I don't know if this is related to the problem.

Just be sure your internal memory doesn't go near empty, I don't think the problem is the size of the folder by itself.

Has anyone received any official support/statement from Fiio regarding the scanning issue? Perhaps I should try to contact Fiio directly, although I was hoping there would be a Fiio rep in this thread who could help.

I have finally solved my scanning problem. I have just had all my music files scanned by Fiio X7 (FW 3.0.11) with the cover art showing perfectly.

Still have the "spanish accents showing chinese characters" issue. And lack of gapless, of course.

What I have done is to remove the embedded images from the music files and use only one image (cover.jpg) in each album folder with the help pf mp3tag predefined actions ("Export cover to file" and then "Remove fields (PICTURE)). Then I reduced the cover images to 480px width and save as jpg the ones that were png (very fast using automator on mac OS). Each cover image is about 50KB.

The scan process has been quicker than before and every file on the sd card perfectly scanned.

I have 5477 songs in iTunes that I sync to a new Samsung 256GB MicroSD card under firmware 2.x:
Scanning for music shows 5403 songs.

If this is the issue for all of us I hope your software engineers can fix this because removing the images from each track is not acceptable with large libraries.  Plus it wasn't an issue in FW2.0 so hopefully they can figure out the differences in the code and correct it in the beta firmware.

I had the problem also in FW2.0. It doesn't matter if the library is small or large, the process is automated by a batch process using mp3tag, you don't do it manually one by one.
