Why is implementing gapless playback so difficult? It can't be the Android OS. My Android smartphone straight out of the headphone jack does gapless perfectly. The Onkyo DPX-1 supposedly does not do gapless within the players stock app either. And with all due respect to the member(s) who suggest using a third party app, even just temporarily, you are missing the point. I don't want to use a third party app, unless I want to use a third party app. Not to slag FiiO, or any other manufacturer for that matter, this is a basic function and should not be that much of an issue to implement regardless of cultural differences.

Some volume matched blind testing: Santana on Sennheiser HD650. iDSD micro vs Fio X7 + AM2 amp module with the help of Fiio HS2 to change between sources. I am unable to find any differences.

gapless isn't as easy as you think.
The code has to know the exact end of current file, pre-read the coming file, and save at least a second in cache. then switch from current track to new track, load album art and other tags all at once. to do this flawlessly i think you would have to use multi-core processing as well.

all of this in combination with the FiiO app, and the FiiO DAC chip kernel.

Since the FiiO HS2 is discontinued does anyone know of a similar item to the HS2 for about the same price?

http://schiit.com/products/sys
or hunt down an HS2. I did. there are plenty available outside of eBay and Amazon.

Can someone tell me which Amp Module the SE output (SQ) of the AM3 is most similar to: AM1, 2, 2A, or 5?

I have all of those now and an AM3 will arrive in a couple of days. And two Black Dragon balanced cables. Oh, and an Onkyo Dp-X1A...Merry Christmas to me.

installed 3.11 yesterday - SD card scan doesn't work. scanned around 3000 tracks out of 8000+. I don't use library mode though, so that's not important.

However, I am unable to play many files - I can see them, but clicking on them does nothing - they just don't play. no error too.

why I have upgraded god..oh why..should have stayed with fw 2 :(

no windows machine around me either, so can't go back now..

I am having a similar issue with SD card scanning. My X7 will only find like half of the songs on the SD card. I'm using a SanDisk 256gb MicroSD card. It's not the new firmware, since I haven't upgraded to the newest version yet; this seems to be happening on the old firmware as well. I formatted the card on my computer (exfat, as there was no FAT32 option). Perhaps formatting the card using the X7 would fix the problem, but I can't find the setting menu on the X7 software for formatting the card.

Anyone find a fix for this? I use library mode exclusively, so unless I can find a fix my X7 is unusable.

Thanks!

Is it a card support issue? i.e. the X7 can't support a 256gb card.

Is it a card format issue? i.e. exfat isn't supported, and it needs to be FAT32.

My card/windows doesn't give me the option of formatting in FAT32, so I'd have to find a program that do it. Alternatively, where in the X7 settings menu is the ability to format the card? I couldn't find it.

Android settings/Storage/Erase External SD card will format it to Fat32.  However, that isn't the issue with the scanning.
