It apears that the November updates to Google Play servies version 10 does not work at all in Fiio X7.
I would always get the Google Play Services error occasionally but it would eventually go away. But now it is constant, and introduces more problems.
1. Not only is the error constant but Now there is an additional error that ask to send error information Google when the Google Play services crashes.
2. When Google Play servies stops, any app that is running will shutdown! This makes the X7 broken and unusable !
3. Google Play Store does not work.
4. Google Play Music does not work, this is terrible becuase I pay for this streaming service.
5. Reset the X7 to factory defaults does not work.

What I've tried to do.
1. Ive done a boot to recovery mode, cleared the partition cache, and restored the X7 to factory defaults and reinstalled Google Play Services.
2. I tried to find an older version of Google Play Services, which works at first but eventually it gets auto updated to the current version and breaks the X7 again.

So FiiO how is China handling these issues? What can we do?
Firmware 3.0 may need an early deployment.

​fiio the situation now is out of our hands and you need to focus on just pushing out firmware 3 no matter what in few days
 
the situation now is disasterous and I hope you take the situation as the most important task for you to push as now we on firmware 2 the x7 is useless

so I had no choice but to upgrade to firmware 3.08 beta
 
as the google service error became a so bad
 
I rooted the firmware 3.08 with kingroot, and I tried to make v4a work but it does not do any processing, I of course installed busybox to install v4a driver and the installation was successful but the v4a does not do any prcessing
 
any solution to this, did anyone get to use v4a on firmware 3.08 beta

Why don't you try the beta? Sorry if that's a dumb question. It works well for the most part.

I was holding off on the beta because its...Beta. I'd rather have all the bugs addressed before I  use the software in a proper release. But now...I don't really have a choice do I?

also the sound seems to be brighter on 3.08 and less bass than firmware 2, which is also not a welcome thing to me, my zeus r is revealing and clearly the bass is less
 
not a good position to be in, I was ok with the sound on firmare 3 and having v4a now I am having to deal with beta and brighter sound with less bass as well

Yes, then you would get creamed around here for complaining about the beta, cuz you don't understand what a beta is! It's a catch 22.

This is a big reason why I am holding off on fw3. If it is a brighter sound I will stick with 2. If 2 becomes unusable I guess I will need to get another dap.

​I do not know how come some people do not perceive that 3.08 has less bass and is really brighter than firmware 2
its so obvious on my zues r the change in sound signature using stock music app of fiio
 
oh man now I have to wait until I get v4a to be able to use neutron again, this is a bad position
 
man the sound is really way brighter and less bass, why fiio did you change the sound signature ? I barely could tolerate the signature on firmware 2 and had to use v4a and neutron to be able to avoid this brightness in firmware 2, now its way brighter and less bass in 3.08. I got now totally stuck both my lg v20 and fiio x7 have sabre dacs, in the future i will try to buy only devcies that have other dacs than sabre dacs as they all tend to sound too bright for me.

you should NEVER have to 'upgrade' to beta firmware. this is a big no-no.
 
When a critical bug like this shows, a hotfix should be released.

@FiiO, can we expect a hotfix on fw2.0 for this?

​well i do not think fiio will do any fix for firmware 2, believe ne I never wanted to go to a beta, but the whole dap became a crash disaster

they'll have to do something. I assume that they have sold many X7's, to many people who don't check these forums, nor the chinese forums of FiiO.

All these users will now get this issue. that's not good for FiiO's brand name.

​I really hope so , as I desperately want to get back to firmware 2 and be able to use v4a and neutron as that was the best I get and I really liked it
