Hey CH23 I see your point....there is a hole that will accept a narrow fitting 3.5 cable and mine isn't anywhere near thin enough so I have ordered a couple more cables online to see if I can fin something that will cut it.

Ok, X7 supports native DSD128, as it does DSD64. I have no problem with the 2.8 Mhz files but the 5.6 don't play correctly. I transferred files from card to internal memory (thought the card couldn't handle the 10k transfer rate) but still nothing... No big deal really, its just for testing audio quality, am my K5 is arriving, I wanted to see how far X7 could go on my home audio system

Do you mean the USB DAC function? Swipe from the top right end of the screen. There should be a square that says "STORAGE." Touch that once to toggle it to USB DAC. A big note will appear on the screen when the X7 is running on DAC mode. Obviously you want to be plugged in to the computer from USB...

I believe FiiO is planning to release a cradle with Bluetooth remote. Not sure when though. Otherwise there is the FiiO K5, but it is more expensive and the amp portion is redundant

Yeah basically I would spend $100 on the K5 for a cradle. I guess I'll wait to see what FiiO comes out with.

just the BT remote would suit me. can't find a nice one online.

A quick question for X7 owners. Are there functionality options via USB? For example if I wanted to connect my X7 to a head unit in the car, would I be able to do that?

At this time I do not believe the X7 has USB output.

I think that viper4android bypasses the basic Android downsampling function, same as Fiio music app does.
