Anyone tried to install Windows driver?
I gave up after several tries - always getting installation failed at the end.
My setup - Win 10 pro, Dell 7720, admin. Installation manager see the device but can't properly install drivers.

The driver is not available yet, the one marked as (X3, X5, X3II, X5II, X7): is from December (or older) and does not contain X7 in it's ini files so won't work for X7.

The driver has already been made available via FiiO's facebook

Though this does not really help

I've posted the FW1.8 update on dropbox for manual download and install.

Did anyone think that the FW1.8 was the bomb?

I noticed Fiio Music App was:
1) Far quicker
2) Album search after selecting the artist was implemented
3) Volume slider built into on-screen menus
4) Back/RW now does not go to the last track and rewinds it back to the current track

All great improvements.

You have to disable driver signature enforcement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71YAIw7_-kg (it disables it for just 1 boot so you have to install the driver once you get back to desktop)

One thing I enjoy about the X7 in Dac mode, is that when its not in use for some time, it puts DAC to sleep (or something similar to that) to conserve power. I can hear a little quiet click when it happens, which is pretty good imo. If I keep it plugged in when not actively listening to music, its nice to have the X7 drain battery.

For those interested, I just posted a mini review of released X7 accessories (tempered glass, stickers, and leatherette case): http://www.head-fi.org/t/790770/introduction-to-x7s-accessories-tempered-glass-screen-protector-pf-x7-and-embossed-sticker-st-x7#post_12305192

Btw, in my case, the "case" actually covers the blue light under the display.

Dear FiiO, I'm noticing quite bit of latency (up to 0.5s!) and the X7 it's getting quite warm if it is set to anything other than to 24/192 in DAC mode.

Are you doing some upsampling in software when in DAC mode? Why? What does it mean for people that want to go bit-perfect? Will it get changed with future firmware?

I just got my Fiio X7 in the mail today.  Once again, Fiio does not disappoint.  I have the X1, X3 (2nd gen) and X5 (first gen) models as well, and a handful of their portable amps.

I love the X7.  Previous to it, I purchased the Pioneer XDP-100R.  Comparing these two initially, although the X7 is an amazing player, aesthetically, and sound-wise I have to give the edge to the Pioneer.  Still pushing the X7 to see what it can do.  I love the DLNA feature so that it can communicate with my NAS server.

Next player on my list to purchase?  I was looking at one of the AK 100 or 120 players... or the Calyx M.. Hmm...

As always, Fiio made an amazing product.

Excited to test this out.

Mac OSX seems to automatically upsample to 24/192. My X5 is like this too. Not sure why it does that. I have Windows 10 on a separate partition so I tried out the drivers on it. The sample rate is normal, but I noticed both OSs have latency when first loading a song.
