It's an app that allows streaming music etc. from WD My Passport Wireless (wifi portable storage) to Android devices.

I would have to agree. I have been riding for more than thirty years and I would never listen to music through IEM's or headphones while operating a motorcycle. It's undeniably dangerous regardless of the precautions taken and the care given. Riding in an urban environment is dangerous at the best of times with the most skilled of riders. You don't want to increase that risk in any way.

Bravo, I was walking on a studio lot decades ago and a truck rounded a corner, almost ran me down.  Had I not been listening to a Walkman, I would have heard the engine.  There was a mandate eventually posted that wearing anything obstructing hearing was not allowed on the premises.  People talk about risking your hearing by listening to music at high volumes, but risking your life isn't debatable.

I understand your point, but having said that there is a huge difference between walking around with a portable music player and using one while operating a motorcycle. Not that the former cannot have it's own set of perils as well. I however, would look at it as the one, walking, while still dangerous is acceptable as long as the proper caution is practiced while the other, operating a motorcycle could not be made safe in any way and is not acceptable at any time.

Not exactly the fastest-moving traffic in the world, and the constant din of noise will drive you mad. I've lived here for 6+ years, and wearing headphones while I drive is an integral part of my mental health regimen.

I understand your point, but having said that there is a huge difference between walking around with a portable music player and using one while operating a motorcycle. Not that the former cannot have it's own set of perils as well. In my case, on a bustling studio lot, it was unwise since the streets don't have sidewalks and can resemble a thoroughfare with trucks and other vehicles sharing the path with pedestrians.  A studio environment isn't the same as a city street, so I learned my lesson.

I watched the video. That's insane! I have to admit that wearing IEM's while riding in that environment may not  actuality increase the already ridiculously high level of danger that already exists.

It's not as though I can't hear what's around me - I can hear approaching bikes and cars just fine. It just blocks enough of it so that it's tolerable.

I wonder how this will compare to my Ipod Touch 5g/Oppo HA2. I use this combo for Tidal and if I got the X7 it would be for the same reason.

Same reason I'm waiting howdy. I was about to go with a idevice with an HA2 but feel this will be a better combo. Not sure yet but will see! How do you like the HA2 with the Touch?
