I understand the vast catalogues of streaming services will be great for some people, but surely that's for use with WiFi?

What happens when you leave home/work, will it have 4g?

Or are these functions now unusable?

This is meant to be a portable player right? So why so much emphasis on functions that cant be used when on the move?

Unless you're in China it'll be November/December.

You could read back a few pages - believe the info was posted not too long ago.

@JamesFiiO, it would be a good idea to update the first post with the most recent release info.

@JamesFiiO can we get some insight on the firmware's features? did you implement some of the previous requests for your X-players? (replaygain, crossfeed, playlistmanagement, faster scrolling, etc)

not sure whether we can catch up the time when it is global released. but the most important thing now is make it stable but not put a lots of featuers inside.

thanks for your answer, so the X7 comes with the same features like the other DAPs from FiiO? plus additional streaming etc.
I'm really looking forward on some first impressions and hands on tests.

You can download your playlist or what ever music you want so that you do not need any wifi or use any of your data. This is on Spotify and Tidal, I know Spotify you can only down load 3333 songs which is a lot. With having 2 cards in the X7 that will be a boat load of music. I cant give my money fast enough to FiiO for this DAP.

James what do you plan on putting as internal memory? How big?

Will offline tidal tracks be able to be saved on SD card or have to go on internal memory.

Good question! I have not tried that yet. I have only downloaded to the internal memory of my ipod touch. I would think that it would not now that I think of it, copyright issues I assume. I only have an ipod so I'm unable to try.

The files in offline mode are locked from tidal only the tidal player unlocks them. I just wondering how much offline storage we would get with this player. If it don't save to SD card then you will need to use 4G data hotspot all the time when your out. Could be a deal breaker for those that only have a few GB on there data plans. If I could download 30GB of tidal music to my SD card I could save a lot of data usage.

You can download as much as you want using Tidal offline. I use my iPod 128gb touch and already have 64GB of offline Tidal music on it without any issues. Also on android you can specify where you want the downloaded files to be stored when using Tidal.

Just wanted to know if James is worried about the new Pioneer DAP being released in November? It seems to offer quite a lot of what the X7 offers and it would be sold for about £379 here in the UK. It's called the pioneer XDP -100R

So any word yet on what the output-power will be from the various choices of amp-modules?
