Can reproduce a DSD file with the same quality if is in the microSD card by DLNA?

I'm the wrong one to ask about DSD as I see zero benefit to it.

Precisely. DSD seems like a dumbed-down version of PCM, trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist while introducing new  complications.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct_Stream_Digital
"Because of the nature of sigma-delta converters, one cannot make a direct comparison between DSD and PCM. An approximation is possible, though, and would place DSD in some aspects comparable to a PCM format that has a bit depth of 20 bits and a sampling frequency of 96 kHz.[21] PCM sampled at 24 bits provides a (theoretical) additional 24 dB of dynamic range."

Apparently DSD pushes the noise-floor at frequencies right above 20 kHz, which audiophiles (and DAC producers) insist humans can hear and matter for audio quality:
"A claimed advantage of DSD is that product designers commonly choose to have no filtering, or modest filtering. Instead DSD leads to constant high levels of noise at these frequencies. The dynamic range of DSD decreases quickly at frequencies over 20 kHz due to the use of strong noise shaping techniques that push the noise out of the audio band, resulting in a rising noise floor just above 20 kHz. The dynamic range of PCM, on the other hand, is the same at all frequencies."

DSD512 is doing 1 bit sampling at insane speeds: ~25 MHz...
"A further extension to the development of DSD is DSD512, with a sample rate of 22.5792 MHz (512 times that of CD), or alternatively 24.576 MHz (512 times 48 kHz)."

To deal with the issues DSD introduces by itself with its 1 bit sampling, it reverts to good-ol' fashioned PCM with 8 bit samples:
"To address some of these issues, a new studio format has been developed, usually referred to as DSD-wide, which retains the high sample rate of standard DSD, but uses an 8-bit, rather than single-bit digital word length, yet still relies heavily on the noise shaping principle. DSD-wide is PCM with noise shaping—and is sometimes disparagingly referred to as "PCM-narrow" [..]"

Overall, seems like this is nothing more than a Sony/Philips marketing ploy that has been perpetuated for decades now...
"In 2001, Stanley Lip****z and John Vanderkooy from the University of Waterloo stated that one-bit converters (as employed by DSD) are unsuitable for high-end applications due to their high distortion. Even 8-bit, four-times-oversampled PCM with noise shaping, proper dithering and half data rate of DSD has better noise floor and frequency response."

Of course Philips disagreed with this...

Firstly Sony/Philips developed DSD with the intention of sounding more natural, not winning a spec war, and for example even the best dap's can only actually resolve 19 bit's of resolution, rendering many of the specs pointless in the first place due to hardware limits, then couple that with the fact that the things we are talking about are at the absolute limits of human hearing, if not past the limits. Bottom line becomes no need to talk specs, just have a listen, you either prefer one or the other or you don't hear a difference, end of discussion lol.

Hey JamesFiiO i was wondering, any chance for the player app to be released on the play store, or as a .apk, for use on other android devices?
It would be cool to use it in conjuction with your portable DACs.

  Has anyone heard x7, because i wonder which one to buy - x 5 or x 7?

Um. . .no. . .it hasn't been released yet.  Read back through the thread.

Anyway it's going to be much better than the X5 sound and feature-wise, but will also be quite a bit more expensive.

Technically its released in very limited numbers but not really to the general public per say. But my buddy has the X7 and he had a lot to say about the X7. In fact if I post the stuff he said, no one would believe me. So all I will say is that FiiO has a hit on their hands!

I lose nothing by doubting you, It would be really cool if you got him to tell us more.

I want to see a video of it in personal use if he could...

He actually sent me videos of him using it. I will ask if he minds if I share it. Its just a bunch of video clips. Maybe I should put them all together in one video with translations?

Feel free to post his impressions if he consents... We're all very curious for impressions, any.

Maybe in the future when we have enough time.

I would be very interested too, however I'd rather have someone like @Joebloggs to show the X7 and demonstrate their new flagship to its full potential.
Besides that I feel that the honor of presenting the X7 first hands on video here should be FiiO's
