Me too, I'm rooting for the Fiio. I'm listening to the X3ll as I write this

Oh and just my 2 cents regarding storage, I'm fine with limited on board storage, two micro sd's are fine with me and it'll keep the price down.

My current players:

Expensive:
AK240 - 456GB (256 internal + 200 card)
AK120 II 328GB (128 internal + 200 card)
AK120 Titan 384GB (128 internal + 2x128 card)

Not as expensive:
Pono, X17, Ak Jr 264GB (64 internal + 200 card)
X5 256Gb (2x128 card)

My preference would be 2 micro sdxc slots or 1 slot + 128GB internal

Sorry, AK Jr has no optical out in its 3.5 mm socket. Would have been a near-perfect portable transport for HUGO, if it had.

Just think, if Fiio make this audio nirvana, what hope have you of upgrading? Where lies the future? Me, I like something great that can be made greater by trying other adaptations, I think it's part of the joy of music listening modifying and entertainment. And after all, we all want different things and listen to music differently. Fiio did have a good idea when they built the amplifier that you could change the chip sets in, then you could tailor the sound to what you wanted, a DAP that could have different boards, or chip sets to swap out, that sounds like something of great interest and entertainment to me.

Has there been any talk from Fiio as to why they have chosen to use the ESS9018 for the X7?
Not doubting the DAC just curious as to reasons.
Apologies in advance if this has been discussed previously, but 292 thread pages it a lot to trawl through.

Problem is only no 2 TB SD or micro SD card available... Maximum currently available is 200 GB micro SD and 512 GB SD. Almost all devices which supports 128 GB micro SD / SD cards, can support up to 2 TB, that's not a hardware limitation. In the i.e. DX50 user manual is also supported up to 2 TB for the micro SD slot and I use a SD card with 256 GB for the DX50 no problem, a 512 GB SD card would work too, but to expensive currently.

Wow, imagine trying to navigate through 2tb of music on a dx50, ouch!

A larger battery gives the low end more presence even at modest listening levels. I'll just cross my fingers.

Oh cmon.

I'm finding 64gb challenging while even a 300gb load would be easy on a A&K player.
