Fiio X5 - Custom/Modded firmwares

Not everyone will be laying out their cards the way you have them labelled. I spotted this before loading the theme as my OTG makes me change the labels to Card 1 and Card 2. Something irritates me about "mSD Card" or "TF card" - I don't know why...

Yeah, thought that might be a problem for some - I have my cards set up as alphabetical folders with A-L on one & M-Z on the other (hence what you see). The "msD & TF" thing really irritates me too,

I think if I'm to pursue text-based themes (which is what interests me) I'll have to stick with more generic treatment of some things for the versions I post here... Occurred to me that my not using American English might annoy some too.

Pleased to hear your input anyway - do say if there're other things. I particularly want someone to comment on the shortcut & playlist functions as I'm not sure some of the labels I've used are correct - I've never understood what the short context menu does exactly!

Please keep using british english! Colour, aluminium, favourites, etcetera.

Equaliser should be with an S though ;)

All right!

After struggling with doing the UI, i present everyone with "A shade of ellegance".

Even though it is basically a rip off from @AsianInvasion and @TheoS53 it is what i wanted from all the UIs they had posted, and it combines the best [for me] from everybody.

The main subject of the theme is to be as elegant as possible, and as ergonomical as possible.

Fast picking and names in EQ will be a little darker than one would like, but i really preffer it that way, it looks sleeker, besides these two little problems, most of the UI is a modified version of other UIs. I had took the time to re-draw some stuff which i was not content with.

Everyone who wants to download it, is my guest, if you want your x5 go be as elegant as possible, be sure to try this theme.

Nice work Grant.  Only issue is the EQ (can't read the EQ bands).  I'll have a look at it when I get home.

I had finished the last touches.

I now have custom boot and shut down, and visibility is solved for all screens. Also, changed launcher basic theme, to something darker, because the grey one was elegant, but sorts of tired for my tastes.

Name of my UI mod remains " A Shade Of Elegance"

Worthy to mention, that due to the way i tried to make everything, as simple as possible, this theme is also one of the fastest ever done. It is not the fastest, but it is extremely light and fast.

I had noticed a single bug, the logo.bmp does not show, i do not understand why. if anyone can debug this, i would be forever greatefull.

It's refreshing to see the correct spelling of favourites. I think the tabs are in the right order, but I haven't checked out the functionality. The tabs particularly are difficult to read. The combination or red against the busy background is not easy for my eyes to make out. I think this might be one area where icons win over text. The main menu is fine. Maybe a blacker background would improve overall legibility?

Yeah, the shortcut menus are a problem where trying to avoid icons is concerned... but I have an idea for a work around...

The logo.bmp needs to be saved as a 32 bit image, not 24 bit.

I made that mod and I sent you a PM and got no response.
It's been downloaded 600 times. Is a twin of Hi-Fidelity which has been downloaded almost 4x as much 2080 and climbing.
I get lots of user feedback and do customs for the twin. If it was doing something it shouldn't I'd know

Never has a single person report playback issues.
Hi-Fi is huge and has very heavy files and it has no issue so 3 large fw with no issue on playback and snappy snappy.

Anyway...thanks for trying it and good luck with your issue.

Watch for 15 seconds and you get the point.

BTW.....where are you downloading the fw from??
My host bandwidth is maxed. You cannot DL Hi-Vinyl without the alternate DL spot

Have sent a PM to Mr Debug himself @Romani
If there is an issue he will lay it out without hesitation.  @uzi2 is quite good with de bug as well

It was fast because you didn't have to mess with coordinates like the original modder.
That is a unique interface created by Theo.
Me and him have no love loss but he did spend hours on his ass making a unique  launcher U.I.

It should be noted in the library that this is a version of simplicity or "based on"

Agree. While I encourage new modders to open existing themes to see how things are done compared to the stock FW it's only fair to credit the original for the groundwork of new themes, or if using elements of an existing custom theme.

I've been spending in the ballpark of 30-40 hours getting the elements for HUD just right and figuring out the EQ alignment, etc. It takes a lot of time to think things through, line things up, create graphics, flash FW, test, repeat. For new modders it doesn't have to take anywhere near that long but I'm doing fairly complex graphics and endless tweaking. I share for the benefit of the community but I'm not getting that time back. All I ask is credit when it's due.

The take away.................

Credit should ALWAYS be given where credit is due.

That's good advice.
