Dec 17, 2016 at 3:04 PM Post #46 of 677
Hi Fiio rep, i would love to construct a review on the upcoming Fiio X5 III (3rd Generation)

I own gear that i believe would offer a good representation of what the Fiio can do, as well as an accurate representation of the consumer-base its aimed at, along with products that would offer an interesting comparison.

My Gear : Headphones
- Master & Dynamic MH40 Luxury Portable headphone 32ohm - Closed back
- Sony MDR10rc - On Ear
- Hifiman HE400I - Planar Magnetic, Open Back
- Sony XBA-3 IEM

Amplification / DAC
- Fiio E10 (original version)
- Fiio X3 Player
- Aune X1S (32/384 DSD)
- Cowon Plenue

I figured you would have one already Craig?

Not sure how FiiO is picking the pre-release testers. There are a few of us who've got access to a lot of DAPs who are trying to get on the tour. I'd rather have a longer term loaner, so I can find adequate time to compare with other sources in between family life and work which inevitably consume more time around this time of the year.

Lol :D

I have a soft spot for the FiiO X5 series but I've also moved away from the portable DAP arena since getting the 240 and then the Mojo. With the SD card add-on for the Mojo expected to be announced at CES 2017 I wasn't going to consider looking at any more portable players,

BUT,

this X5iii is simply too enticing to not at least give it some attention.

*Edit*...Just added Focal Elear & ampsandsounds Kenzie review.

Fiio is on a roll! I would be honored to be chosen for the x5iii review tour. I still use my EM-3's quite often. This would be a great opportunity so close after the Cayin i5 tour. I love that the manufacturers are setting such high standards! We are the beneficiaries of such opportunities.

Thank you!

PS: this would be my first time, so i would like to get few things straight:
would i have to send the player at my expense back to China if im last reviewer?
do reviewers get discount on this product if they want to buy it later?
is it possible to buy reviewed unit from Fiio and keep it instead of sending it back?

thanks
